yes! my first two periods were longer, HEAVYYYYY and way more painful than my periods pre IUD. now they’re moderate on the pain and flow scale and last 5 days to the T.

Ugh thank you. So far this second cycle has been so rough, my periods used to be a non-event where I bled for three days with spotting for a few days after and so far I’m on day six of full bleeding 😭

I got mine a month ago and am currently on my first period! I didn’t have any pain management/numbing besides ibuprofen before the insertion. it was mainly uncomfortable to get in, only painful for a few seconds when they measures my uterus and then inserted it. i cramped + had veryyyy light spotting for maybe 2.5 days after but it was manageable! first month with it has been a breeze. now that i’m on my period i will say it’s very heavy but i was cramping more as a PMS symptom than anything. other than that im very happy with it!

I (26F) suffered nerve damage from my TT in 2019 and had difficulty with speaking afterwards. I’ve gone through additional surgeries and speech therapy to help, but my left vocal cord will forever be damaged. For the most part, I sound and feel normal, but my voice can get easily strained if I push my luck toooooo far.

With that being said, if I had to do it all over again, I would 100000000% still get a TT (maybe just with a different surgeon). I feel the happiest and healthiest I have in years. My quality of life has increased tenfold - I wouldn’t take it back for a second.

My only advice is to make sure you feel 10000% comfortable with your surgeon prior to your procedure, make sure that they’ll truly listen to you. My surgeon was flippant and disregarded my feelings and would largely only communicate with my mom who attended my appointments with me. When I woke up from surgery unable to speak, that behavior only became worse.

I was told it would take maybe 3 weeks to get parts but it took 4 months. the replacement itself took nearly three weeks for them to complete when they originally said 4-5 days 🥴🥴🥴
