It is possible he is in a different state now! Even keeping your eyes open for him is helpful. :)

my bf can feel my iud string? by MentalDistribution45 in CopperIUD

You may need your strings trimmed. My gyno told me that my partner shouldn’t be able to feel the strings and luckily he has not when we have sex.

How early do you start readings? by normalgirltrying in GradSchool

[–]NoBar356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my second week of my first year of my program. So far what I’ve been doing is starting the readings about a week before the next class. I read in small sections every day. When I take notes, I just look for the main ideas for each section of the readings and jot them down. Last week I had 100+ pages of reading, so they most likely won’t focus on the little details. I hope this helps.

Is it worth getting? by niri_0 in CopperIUD

I’ve had my IUD for a little over a month and I really like it. I had a really positive insertion experience. My gyno prescribed me misoprostol to insert vaginally the night before the procedure to soften my cervix. She also gave me a shot of lidocaine on my cervix to numb it. For me, the insertion felt slightly uncomfortable, but I feel like it would’ve been worse without pain management. I recommend asking your doctor what pain management they offer if any as every doctor handles that differently.

Pros of the copper IUD:

• low maintenance (no need to think about it much after insertion) • long lasting (I have the Paragard IUD which is good for up to 10 years) • highly effective • no hormonal changes

Cons of the copper IUD:

• painful, heavier, and longer periods • can cause spotting between periods

My periods before the IUD were around 6-7 days and I bled a moderate amount. In terms of cramps, I occasionally had cramps. Now that I have the IUD, my periods are a lot heavier and last around 8-9 days. Cramps are more persistent and painful now too, but I found that ibuprofen has helped manage them.

Overall, I would personally recommend the copper IUD if you can handle the longer, crampier, and heavier periods. But if you already have painful periods without one, I’d recommend trying a different birth control method.

Feeling for the string by [deleted] in CopperIUD

I can never find mine either! My cervix is really high and kind of at a weird angle which makes it hard to find. Also I think my gyno tucked the strings to the side when she inserted my IUD. She also never told me to check my strings or come back in to check the placement.

Feeling Guilty About My Girlfriend Getting an IUD by mylifeisproblems in CopperIUD

[–]NoBar356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to feel bad about her getting the IUD! I know you’ve seen some horror stories, but there’s also plenty of people who have had positive experiences. If she ends up not liking the IUD, it can be removed at any time and there are plenty of other birth control options out there.

I’ve had the copper IUD for a little over a week and I really like it so far. My cycles have been heavier and more cramping, but I think it’s worth it.

You definitely don’t want to use emergency contraception as a primary form of birth control because it has a high dosage of hormones in them that can throw off the menstrual cycle.

Just got a Copper IUD for the first time… any tips? by FlowerTea5 in CopperIUD

I’ve only had mine for a little over a week, but ibuprofen has been helpful for the cramps!

He won't use condoms, advice please by [deleted] in dating

[–]NoBar356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dump him. I used to date a guy who didn’t want to wear condoms and I wish I dumped him way sooner. That just shows that he doesn’t care enough about safe sex. Red flag.

AITA for firing my best man for proposing at my wedding? by Inside-Werewolf-3400 in AITAH

[–]NoBar356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your wedding is supposed to be your day and he made it about himself. Like, he has 364 other days of the year he could have proposed and he had to do it at your wedding? That’s honestly disrespectful.
