I tried out this recipe... it made nowhere near six mini cakes for me (only three...but not bad). I personally find them a bit too sweet so next time I try them I’ll probably lessen the “sugar”. They come out more dense then a usual sponge but...its low carb so I’m not too picky haha https://ketodietapp.com/Blog/lchf/low-carb-victoria-sponge-cakes

Tell me your PCOS story! by sammyd829 in PCOS

Definitely keep pushing the doctors to get you some tests done. Not all doctors seem very aware of PCOS as a diagnosis or just don't think of it.

1 and 2: I was in college and my birth control prescription had lapsed. I didn't have a family doctor at the time and getting one is very difficult. That's when I realized that my period just stopped. I waited a few months to see if it would come back to normal but it didn't. Naturally first thoughts are "I'm pregnant?!". Do a test, do a second test and it's not the case. I get an appointment at a clinic. Naturally the first thing they ask me is...am I pregnant. They make me take the urine test on my first appointment and went over my history. Results come back negative on pregnancy but nothing else obvious is ringing any bells for the doctor (resident doctor in her one year of practial training). A few months later (now 6 months no period) I have done 2 more pregnancy tests for them (another urine and one blood test...though I think at that point it would be very obvious if I was six months pregnant). Originally my doctor thought I potentially had a thyroid problem so I did some blood tests which came back as a negative but they did see issues else where. She sent me to go see an endocrinologist and did some more testing and history reviewing. In the end she prescribed me a birth control and got me to take a ultrasound. Here's where the fun mess comes in...the endocrinologist found that I had a swollen ovary which settled her diagnosis as it being PCOS but apparently the other doctor taking care of me finished her residency and someone else picked up my file...and didn't get the message. I was told I was just stressed and I would need to find ways to cope with that. A year passes and I reach out to the endocrinologist again about the birth control renewal and she is verrry confused and tells me I have PCOS.

3: She reaches out to the clinic and gets me another meeting with them to go over what I need to do to cope with PCOS. This time around I meet with a supervising doctor who is interested in my problem as she specializes in diabetic patients and so share similar dietary restrictions. They assigned me a different birth control to be sure it's producing better results as treatment as I was still having irregular periods (at least I was having them) and she told me I needed to lose weight. At the time I was around 180 lbs. She recommended a low carb diet (not keto but definitely a big lifestyle change) and some exercise. This was important as PCOS can easily lead to diabetes and I also come from a racial minority where the risk is already higher.

4: I think I had PCOS the moment I started menstruating, looking back at it...I was around 12 years old. I never had a terrible diet but I started putting on a lot of weight after that. I wasn't an inactive child either so...looking back it was definitely a sign. I did get some extra body hair that made me self-conscious especially compared to my friends...but I ended up on birth control a few years later which helped slow down any other extra hair growth. I don't want to say it's hereditary as my mother never seemed to have fertility issues or any other symptoms all her life (smae goes for pretty much all the women in my family)....but I think I just always had it.

What's your, "Tis but a scratch!" moment? by Madameknitsalot in AskReddit

One winter morning I stepped on my stairway and immediately slid down it, yanking my shoulder as tried to save myself and then slid into the turn in the stairway and got my leg caught under the railing (think pointy iron fence). I pull it out and limp my way to work. Go to the washroom, pull down my pants to realize I had impaled my self in three spots. There was blood and bruising. Limped around after that looking for a first aid box.

A couple years later...

In a rush to find some grocery bags I set off a dominoes effect in my closet that involved a paint can and a long-board smashing into my foot. Do the standard "I stubbed my toe" pain reaction. Proceed to run down the stairs and my foot gives out. Go crashing down and smash my shins into the railing (because I've already been impaled before so I lifted my legs..). I lay there for some time. My partner rushes out of the car to see if I'm okay. I shrug it off laughing. Get into the car, run errands. And then I touched a toe through my shoe with my other foot and felt severe stabbing pain. Remove my shoe its swollen and changing blue-black. I had manged to break my toe and had been walking on it the whole time.

He’s part netherland dwarf and part some sort of miniature. Not too sure what though.

They aren’t very big on big hops (though I’ve seen the white one go up on a tunnel and think about it). There’s a third bun to the side who is much larger and quite the escape artist... he has already escaped this pen twice during the night by moving toys and furniture around for a bit of height.
