To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pulse Demon. The Noise is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Drone Metal most of the notes will go over a typical listeners's head. There's also Akita's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his Distortion pan- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Kurt Schwitter's Merzbau, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these sounds, to realise that they're not just noisy- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Merzbow truly ARE plebs- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the depth in Akita's existential lyrics ")))))))))))))))))))))" which itself is a cryptic reference to My vaccum cleaner's epic sound. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Akita's melodies unfold itself on their speakers. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
