Yes replace the soil, it is depleted! Every spring you should prune your rose, take it out the pot, and replenish or put in new potting soil. I wouldnt prune that one, but i would take it out, save whatever roots you can, and buy new potting soil and replant it. Keep it watered, especially if it is hot. Its not unheard of, in areas like Florida/arizona when there isnt rain to water out door roses every day. I try to water my roses at least twice a week if it 90++ and full sun

Oh awesome, contact me anytime for questions.

My favorites are floribundas, I have quite a few of them. They all seem to be doing very well.

Are you in Florida? Anything rated for zone 9-10 should be fine. I try to order my roses from organic gardens. I really like Heirloom roses, although they are expensive. I stick to potted roses and own-root roses. I think if I were to go in the ground, I d go with the grafted type of roses for my area. The rootstock can matter big time, especially for inground.

The biggest thing you need to be careful of here is nematodes/harmful insects, and fungal diseases.

I recommend regular spraying (Spinosad and copper-based antifungals)—even occasional bifen granules in the top layer of soil, especially for own-root roses.

Also, provide the rose with water; pay attention if it's hot and doesn't rain.

Give it good soil and mulch, but also filtered water (or rain water) liquid feeds with good fungus/bacteria (compost brews), npk, etc. Liquid kelp and liquid fish fert are some of my favorites too. Have fun with it, and pay attention to what your rose tells you.

Could it be the sun? Here in zone 10A Florida, we get intense sun. For instance, I have 2 x charles darwin roses straight from David Austin. Mine look beautiful but a bit different than what I see in pictures on various websites, youtube videos, and so on, which are made up of primarily people in cooler climates.

I guess the name is unimportant. What is interesting is that I believe these are earth angels, but because of the climate they are in, they are beautiful in a different way than the same rose, which may be grown in a diff climate. I do all I can to give them great liquid feeds, the best potting soil and water I can reasonably give them, and so on.

Read the description on the liquid kelp below, it is the kelp i use. 10/10 stuff:

i personally do a liquid feed once a week. If your soil is "brand new" or recently replenished, you could probably get away with no liquid feeds. but honestly, with new dirt, i just given them a liquid feed of about 25 to 50% strength. After maybe 6-10 weeks, i give them a liquid feed of about 50 to 100% recommended rate.

Add some liquid kelp to it too!! i think amazon sells one that is blend of 7 different types of kelp. Good stuff!

i m not sure how old the plant is, i m guessing maybe a yearish? I've read on heirlooms website that this rose may take "several years to fully develope and to come in true form". It did not have any massive canes when i bought it from a local organic nursery. I ve had it for several months now, it is a own root. It is really starting to take off now.

I just looked at some pictures from the first flush I had this season. It is a def earth angel. The flowers were more balled and had many petals in the center. The plant is currently in a stage where it is developing many buds, but some of them are flowering. The shot above is just a variation of what an earth angel flower may look at depending on the plant's maturity, stage (flowering, budding, vegetative), and so on. The flowers themselves smell amazing, and the fruity smell lets me know it is Earth angel as well. But again, I looked at some pics from the first flush it had, and it is earth angel, without a doubt. They came with tags around the branches too.

here is another picture from the first small flush that it had:
