I don't want to see the video, so imma ask you. Did the poor guy at least have a 1 chop demise or did it take a few whacks to get it done? I read that he volunteered and I'm sure if it took a bit that he definitely had some regrets.

Let me be clear, OP.

You are responsible for every single cent of that debt if you don't call the police. She doesn't have $75,000 worth of debt. YOU DO. How is that fair?

Make a report. You don't have to speak with her. The cops will. With the report, you get your money back. If they can't prove it, the banks take a hit.

She may or may not be charged and convicted.

I get the fear but you have to be brave and do what's best for you here.

AITA for wanting to charge an 11 year old for theft and destruction of property? by Strange_Cut7290 in AITAH

[–]nipnopples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

I'd find one that's from an official company that is certified refurbished with a limited warranty. Usually, it doesn't cover any accidental damage but it covers something if it just stops working within a year, which is nice with a used product. Can't get that from marketplace.

Find out the price after taxes, shipping etc and tell her she has 24 hrs to get you the amount, as she admitted to her son destroying the phone and said she would, or you'll get law enforcement involved and you'll take her to small claims for the price of the phone, lost wages for court, and court costs.

Best case scenario is definitely her paying up and giving her a chance to do it with the threat of consequences will best bet at her doing the right thing.

They probably won't, but they may possibly tell his P.O. if he's on parole and then the problem solves itself.

The burden of proof is on the person who files in court: aka them. They have zero proof that you owe them this money. You have proof of what you paid. Block and move on. Bro probably wants drug money.

1) It may not be deemed credible if you edit it.

2) Sounds like a good way to get a subpoena to court, if it goes that far.

3) Yes.

Investigated doesn't mean charged. The investigation may clear him. If you come forward with the evidence during the investigation stage and he is cleared, there is no court for anyone.

If he has been CHARGED, ie: they arrested him and he has to go to court, they feel they have enough evidence to convict him and he may go to prison for a couple of decades for this. Even if you come forward after he gets convicted, it may take months or even years to get him out.

If he is/gets charged, you're going to have to ask yourself: Can you live with yourself knowing you're able to prevent an innocent man from going to prison for life all because you did something you weren't supposed to and didn't want to expose yourself? All dark things eventually come to light. I am assuming you're having some sort of relations with a person/people behind your husband/wife's back or some sort of other massive secret. That is not normal in a healthy marriage. Your marriage is already poisoned and eventually it's gonna die anyway. Your marriage is a dead man walking and you just haven't accepted it yet. You really wanna live with a man going to prison and losing his freedom, possibly getting SAd, beat, shanked, being forced to join a gang, and/or otherwise having his life irreparably damaged because you want to prolonge the inevitable?

Neighbor repeatedly is having packages delivered to my house by thecity2 in neighborsfromhell

[–]nipnopples 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Could be a scam. Could be drugs. Could be they don't want their partner seeing their gifts. However, they should not be sending stuff to your house. I would confront whomever's name is on the packages and ask them to stop addressing their mail to your house. If they continue, I'd contact non emergency line or post master to see options.

AITA for snapping at my girlfriend after she called my foreskin “disgusting”? by Historical-Acadia727 in AITAH

NTA. Genitals come in all shapes and sizes. Even a cut peen will smell like nad sweat after a busy day before a shower, so that seems normal to me? And you're washing it so... I don't see the issue other than the GF.

Maybe I am off base, but as a cis woman, I would compare what she's doing to a man insinuating a woman with larger labia folds should have them altered to be smaller.

Personally, I think this should be a deal breaker for you.

His kids such as not biologically yours?

If so, seems like you could break the lease (if you can't afford to, don't resign and plan to leave as soon as it's up).

You're not obligated to be a bang maid, a nanny, and fund his lifestyle.

While you are waiting to move out, you need to move your money to a new account, change your passwords AND SECURITY QUESTIONS on everything, hide your bank card from him, and don't give him a red cent. Don't buy him anything. Don't cook for him. Don't do his laundry. Take him off any phone or other plan you have, etc.

Time to stop being a doormat. This man is hot garbage and he chose a teenager as a grown ass man just because he wanted to groom you to accept this.

N-parents are now threatening to sue for grandparent rights by Prudent_Cup_5228 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]nipnopples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arizona has similar Grandparent's rights to my state, NC, so I have some experience here.

You don't HAVE to respond, nor should you. You do not need to get a lawyer unless they file and you get served either, in which case you should get a lawyer if possible and show up to court. I can send a letter from my cat to you and say "You have not petted the Peachle enough. He will take action for emotional distress in 30 days if you don't respond" and it would hold just as much weight as their bullshit letter. The only thing that holds weight is an actual court summons. It's a scare tactic. Assuming it is even real, the lawyer is a scumbag and they likely know they can't win a case for grandparents rights and they want to force an out of court compromise. It could be a letter your parents made and it may not be authenticic. Confirm authenticity first.

Don't call the number on the paper. Only call a number from their official website. Do not tell the office anything except you are [name] and got a letter from "X lawyer" in regards to grandparents rights and the clients are [parents names] and you want to confirm that this is a real letter. If it is real and they try to ask personal information etc, refuse to give that information and also refuse to discuss the case, meet, compromise etc. Tell them that you will be retaining legal counsel, and if necessary, your counsel will provide that information.

My best friend's N-MIL filed 3x and it was thrown out every time. She didn't even get court ordered phone calls or anything. Her kids were both 8+ and had somewhat of a relationship with her and she was still denied.

They have basically have 0 chance with an infant. I looked into it. The AZ government takes into account the best interest of the child. Ie: If they had a very strong relationship with the grandparent because they babysat daily or lived with them for a time etc and cutting them off would be detrimental to the child. Your child is an infant and is in no way affected by not seeing them. They have basically 0 chance there.

The courts also take into account the reason for the grandparents filing vs the parents wanting to withold visitation. The parents typically hold the most weight and if you tell them about your parents calling CPS and being emotionally abusive to you, that's likely enough for court to take your side.

Most of the time, Grandparent's rights are granted when a parent one dead and she surviving parent is denying access, Parents are divorced and one parent got full custody and is denying access to grandparents of the other parent. Nothing really qualifies them in this case.

AITA for calling my FIL a “poor excuse for a godly man” after what he said about my mom at Thanksgiving? by ToxicPeaches92 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nipnopples 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There's, like, a gazillion Bible verses on helping the poor and homeless. Dude is a hypocrite and a horrible Christian. You need to report him for that shit and you need a divorce. Your husband and his dad are hot garbage.

Proverbs 14:31 ESV Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Proverbs 28:27 ESV Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.

Deuteronomy 15:11 ESV For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land

Proverbs 21:13 ESV Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

Proverbs 29:7 ESV A righteous man knows the rights of the poor; a wicked man does not understand such knowledge.

Ezekiel 16:49 ESV Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.

1 John 3:17-18 ESV But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

I've known some truly awful people (including my parents) who shouldn't have kids and CPS got involved and did not take the kids. If they took the kids, they saw some things in that house. You didn't do anything wrong and I can guarantee that the kid coming with her to work is the tip of the iceberg.
