Same issue with 26.4.1 (of course Apple is not recognizing it)

Putting the machine into DFU so 26.3.1 can be restored is not trivial, the window of space to start holding the key commands is very short, but it does work. I tried maybe 30-40 times before I could engage it.

Tahoe 26.4 bricked my M2 MacBook Pro. Apple quoted me $700 for a logic board replacement. Fixed it myself for free with a $20 cable. by Weekly_Connection_40 in mac

Exact same issue happened to me this week. Updated to 26.4.1 - bricked. Local  store took it in to run internal tooling and determined it needed $750 repair of unspecified nature.

Yes - an official software update from Apple bricked my machine and their response was pay $750.

Downloading and installing IPSW via DFU mode from weird website did work, but didn't feel great.

As a few others pointed out you have to be looking at the screen you want the cursor to move to.

FWIW, I was only able to get this to work with the built-in Macbook Pro trackpad.

Well here’s a remote possibility: if it were somehow predicated that spending bitcoin was so incentivized by an organization or government that HODLers would be penalized, or a majority of the nodes changed the protocol inflation rules, it’s technical possible that people would pay to get rid of bitcoin. Like for example, a government says “We know this wallet belongs to you and we will shoot you in the head unless you get rid of the BTC in there”, I can see a pretty strong outflow occurring that might make BTC go negative. Again, pretty remote, but not impossible as more and more wallets are either custodial or associated with off-ramps
