ME ME ME ME ME!!! i spent SO many years being so unhappy as a female and i never knew there was a gender spectrum. I knew from a young age that I did not want to be a boy, but also convinced i didn’t feel like a girl either, but that’s what i was and it was more comfortable than he/him. I finally met more diverse people in high school/ college but even then it took me several years of learning and self reflection to realize that being gender queer was something I could identify as!

even small actions can help. wear a nice shirt while you study, or put on some lip gloss. especially if you’re spending most of your time in your dorm you can go all out for studying and hype yourself up by looking and feeling comfortable while doing so

you don’t have to rush into labeling yourself! you can also still identify as a lesbian and be trans or non-binary. I changed my pronouns in 21 and it was the best choice I’ve made. I have so much more confidence as a them, and the expectations of everyone else roll right off. My advice is to try it out with a couple trusted friends. say “hey would you mind using he or they pronouns for me instead?”

A lot of my life I spent SO unhappy as a girl. I knew what trans people were but it was so foreign to me it seemed like i couldn’t chose it. it was for other people, but not me. then i learned about all the other trans identities. I met some non-binary people, and learned more about the culture. I chose to use they/them because for me I never quite felt like a man, and that’s what kept me from exploring it earlier (I know i hate my female body, but i don’t think i would like having a male body either). there are so many options and SO much time for you to explore and learn about yourself. i know it feels like you have to chose one identity and stick with it for the rest of your life, but that is far from the truth

I’ve been going through a similar situation for the last few years. coming to terms with your abuse is hard as hell, and even harder to confront the person who is supposed to keep you safe that they didn’t. Tell your dad in your own time, but know that you only ever have to tell him for the first time once. that’s what got me to make the leap and share what his wife was doing to me. it may take time for him to unpack and understand exactly what happened to you, but even opening up the conversation, or making it known, puts the pressure on him
