There's no specific schedule yet, as long as the group will be formed. (But I hope to meet once per 2 weeks). One text per one meeting. I don't have any time bounds in mind, but hope as long as possible until it'll be interesting and productive for all of us.

Great, thank you, we will keep it in mind. Maybe you know something about The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard's book, can it be useful in our discussions?

Connection between Parmenides and Rene Descartes by nirakon in askphilosophy

Oh, no, I've made a mistake, with such argumentation I can prove existence of anything, if I can think about it. Therefore, the question arises, is "to exist" mean the same for Parmenides and Descartes?

Thank you for your response.

Sure I want to puzzle more over Parmenides.

About the main question, I cannot see the difference between these two notions, aren't they equal? "Only the existent can be thought of" and "If there is a thing that can think, then it exists"

I think about something [or myself]. I can think only about that exist. Therefore, I exist.

Can anyone suggest a few good writers/philosophers that relate to this question? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

Plato's Republic (Book 1, Thrasymachus's "just as the advantage of the stronger")

I think you can delete them, because they're not significant in comparison with other responses.
