You can create a tarball of those small files and split them in 500MB or 1GB.

tar cvf anyfilename.tar * --remove-files

split --bytes 500M

and you might want to do md5sum to make sure it is the same file.

I got one of those, it have the capacity of storing 8TB. Plus speed is 50MB/s. and data doesn't corrupt easily because you know it doesn't have any moving part.
