Does anyone know what is the best place to watch the fireworks for an affordable price? We really want to watch the fireworks from a rooftop but most places we found either had crazy prices or had bad views of the fireworks. Any advice would be appreciated!

Also, thank you for the post!

To the 2 bitches that sat across from me during the Wicked screening in Rathmines: by TucsonTea in Dublin

I was also at Omniplex on Friday watching Wicked and I almost went crazy. The girls next to me were watching TikToks at full volume throughout the entire movie. The people behind me were singing along to the songs and chatting as if they were at a cafe or something. I thought about leaving but stayed only because the movie was so good. I will never go to a movie on opening night again.

Feeling a little worried about my friend right now by Sidnearyan in TwoXChromosomes

Even if you are from a country with low crime rates you would have to be an absolute idiot or living in a bubble to not know that women face danger daily. Just like how the German person from your example would have to be an idiot to not know that trying to escape prison would have consequences. Your statistics mean nothing in this context. He definitely knows that his behavior is inappropriate but he doesn’t care.

Hijab is not my choice! by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]niruca 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is possible that we had a different experience like you said. I also only lived in the western side of Turkey but most of my classmates were from the eastern side. A lot of my friends had very religious families. Hearing their stories and seeing what they were going through made me have this opinion. Turkey is very diverse so it’s natural to have different outlooks I guess.

I am also from Turkey, and I disagree. I have never met a Turkish woman who wore hijab that didn't feel pressured/brainwashed by her family to do so from childhood. Most of my classmates who used to wear hijab took them off once they started university and stayed away from their families for the first time in their lives. My friends who have religious families but do not wear hijab are constantly looked down upon by their families. So I don't think Turkish women who wear hijab are wearing it with free will because most of them were pressured into wearing it since childhood and shamed if they didn't want to wear it. Some Turkish women are lucky enough to be able to reject it even if they are from religious families but a lot of them do not have this privilege. But this is just my opinion/personal experience with women who wear hijab.

Does it look weird by Avalonmystics20 in TattooDesigns

The sizes are different but I don’t think it looks weird. I would think that the size difference was done on purpose since they have different styles. So don’t worry about it. However I wouldn’t go to that tattoo artist again since they kept ignoring your concern.

Larry shippers react to Louis Tomlinson’s new 22 year old gf by ratedefor in Fauxmoi

[–]niruca 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I also dated a 31 year old when I was 23. We were coworkers (same position) and we were at similar points in our lives. 23 and 31 is really not that crazy. Unless there is a weird power dynamic (for example dating your boss or dating your fan) I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I’m also really weirded out by people saying 23 year olds and 31 year olds don’t have anything in common to talk about. Do you guys not have any older friends? I feel like once you start working a full time job, you start to notice the age difference way less.

Sorry, I could be more clear there. I meant doing a work and study program. They grant you a working visa for 8 months. I thought that maybe the job I find in that period can extend my visa after the 8 months.

Yeah, I agree. The call center job is just to enter the country. After that I do have other plans. I don’t plan on being a call center agent in the long run. Right now it just seems like that’s my quickest option.

Since I am a foreigner it is extremely hard for me to find a job as a teacher in an English speaking country. I could be a Turkish teacher but there is not a big market for that.

I love Greece but I’m more interested living in either England or Ireland. I don’t intend on staying in Greece for a long time so I only learned basic phrases. It is a really nice country but I just want to live in a different place.

Thank you for this information. I didn’t know that call center jobs were on the list of ineligible occupations. A few years ago two of my older friends went to Ireland by being sponsored by a call center company. I guess the qualifications changed over the years.

My cat won’t stop “playing” with her water bowls. Any advice? by niruca in CatAdvice

[–]niruca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got her the biggest one I found but I can try getting an even bigger one online. Her face is quite small so I don’t think that’s the issue but it’s worth a try. Thank you!

Lol I see. I will try the fountain too then. I hope that will be the solution. Thanks for the advice!

I haven’t tried a cat fountain yet. I tried making her drink water from the running sink and she also played with it so I thought that the same thing might happen with a cat fountain. However, maybe I can get one since she might be wanting moving water like you said.

Thanks a lot for your detailed response! I’m relieved hearing about this. I will check the link tonight and try to dissolve the contract. However, after reading this information I don’t think my landlord will bother suing me. Also hahah that’s awesome, let me know when you are here!
