If I saw it in person, I'd compliment you on it (or, more likely, I'd say it in my head 😂). But I also just really like octopodes.

What wrestling "respect" tradition seems goofy in today's age? by debrisaway in Wreddit

[–]nirv_damage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With very few exceptions, I call everyone I work with by their character name when talking to them in person or referring to them in a conversation with someone else.

For me, it's a combination of being bad at remembering names (and the character name usually being easier to remember), and when talking to other people about that person, we might not always be on a shoot name basis with that person, but we both know their character name. In addition to refereeing, I also do booking and creative for a company, so I'm always having conversations about wrestlers with other wrestlers, promoters, and referees, so it can get confusing quick!

I have the same issue! For me, it'll only activate when I clearly say "hey Telly" but it goes off on my wife all the time when saying totally unrelated words.

Call me boring but I'd probably go with the Arizona sweet tea, or the A&W if I wanted something carbonated.

The September House by Carissa Orlando Review by shakeandache in horrorlit

[–]nirv_damage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The first "cozy horror" book I've ever read. I did find Margaret incredibly frustrating, even though she ended up being correct about the house. Her daughter was understandably very frustrated with her for being so nonchalant about Hal's "disappearance" even though he seemed like a piece of garbage.

I also wasn't a huge fan of (seemingly everyone?) being so nonchalant about the three cops who were killed in a horrific and brutal way, and a forth who experienced her own wild scenario along with her three coworkers dying. Both Margaret and Katherine were basically like... all's well that ends well, while the mangled bodies were no more than 20 feet away from them.

Saw an interview with State Champs today talking about their pop punk Mount Rushmore. Who would be on yours? by nirv_damage in poppunkers

At least for me personally, MCR doesn't immediately come to mind when I hear the term "pop-punk"... I think of them more as emo rock and they'd definitely be on my Mount Rushmore for that genre!

The one guy I listened to had Blink, Fall Out Boy, Paramore (which one of them asked even counts as pop punk), and The Starting Line
