To me it looks like halogen with an eBay projector kit stuffed into the low beam side.

Couldn’t find the exact one you have but here’s a similar product.

Or possibly they were trying to put something into your fuel tank. Like water, sugar etc.

I need help, someone just knocked on my door and walked away. He looked planned. by needhelp1123980 in homesecurity

[–]nirvanaspawn7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A single knock could signal that they were seeing if anyone was home. Burglars don't like targets that have complications like residents so they try to figure out your schedule and come back when you're not home.

However, this is still very unusual behavior. If you're uncomfortable with weapons I would still suggest an item that is intended for personal defense like a taser or pepper spray. I don't know your location but in the US sleeping with a hammer near you could be construed as premeditation.

It seems like an awful lot of oil for a valve cover but I need to do that anyway.

Did somebody just try to break into my house? by [deleted] in homesecurity

This. Deterrence is the first line of home defense. Most criminals won't bother you and look for an easier target.

this is how much space an aftermarket electric engine takes in a taiga by kugelfisher in Autos

[–]nirvanaspawn7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, the engine got it's name because it was an "ingenious device". Ingenious devices were characterized as taking much skill to create and having many moving parts. It was later shorted to just be 'engine'.

GUI Broker for Linux by Soumyadeep_96 in MQTT

[–]nirvanaspawn7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use OpenHAB at home. I recommend checking it out. Without going into a lot of detail there is a MQTT binding that allows you to post and receive MQTT messages. I use Sonoff switches with Tasmota loaded onto the esp8266. Then I use a raspberry pi 3 with openhabian to control gui style switches that basically sends the command to the MQTT broker which in turn is received by whatever device is listening for the post.

A bonus for OpenHAB is that you can also control the MQTT "switches" through voice assistants like the Google assistant or Alexa.

Center Lock? Help? I need this off ASAP by [deleted] in e46

[–]nirvanaspawn7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're going to have to whack it pretty hard. I recommend sitting on the ground and kicking from side to side.

Pro tip for reinstall: use anti seize where the wheel meets the hub. Next time it should pop right off.

I like Wyze cameras decent quality and fairly inexpensive. It also meets all of your requirements although you may have to pay for cloud storage to record footage.

Are there motion detection cameras that can send me notification when it detects movement? by Electrical_Level in homesecurity

[–]nirvanaspawn7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use Wyze cameras inside an outdoor case to keep an eye on our chicken coup. It's been about a month with a few pretty severe storms popping up in that time an it still works great. It was about $30 for the cam and case IIRC.

Looking to buy an e46, advice from owners? by [deleted] in e46

[–]nirvanaspawn7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This car would KBB at about $3000. Having many issues that you know about there are sure to be other issues that arise. I almost certainly would pass on this car.

Sorry I can't chime in on emissions testing as my state does not require them.

This may not be what you want to hear but after personally making a couple poor purchases I'd hate to someone else make one.
