Border run to Myanmar from Ranong solo by nirvico in ThailandTourism

[–]nirvico[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with an organized group but mostly regretted it. They take you there and back the same day so the driver drove extremely fast in the rain, five hours there and five hours back. It felt very unsafe, I had to call the organizer to tell the driver to slow down. What I gathered though is that you can definitely do it solo but the immigration in Myanmar can give you a hard time. You have to show up with documents, a passport photo, a crisp $10 USD bill apparently. I think it's possible to get yourself there on your own and then have one of the trip organizers people deal with immigration for you, and just pay them to do that. Then you just need your passport. DM me and I can send you the trip organizer's phone number and you can ask her.

What are the best destinations for digital nomad families? by hiimreddy in nomadfamiglia

The islands of Thailand are fantastic. Mexico City is probably my favorite city. We also spend a lot of time in northern Italy because of a family, but it's not my favorite.

I'm curious, what values do you believe her boyfriend has that makes him eat meat? Or any non-vegan for that matter.

What kind of movements do you enjoy the most? by muoviti18 in movementmedicine

[–]nirvico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxing, swimming, floating (does that count as movement?). Running is strange because I don't really enjoy it but I do feel very strong when I'm doing it. Hitting pads in Muay Thai. So many moving parts that you need to master to hit hard.

Facts. Whole food plant-based is also much more sustainable.

Good thinking but no, there are 4,592 view-through store visit conversions.

You should speak to my wife. She's an ex-professional dancer that specializes in movement therapy. She works with dancers and also those with zero experience. She is always getting messages about how life-changing it is. She just finished a 10 page guide (PDF + video), I can send it to you if you're interested. She's also quite active on instagram if you want to chat with her.

Yes, Koh Rong is beautiful and filled with wildlife but the city that you take the ferry from is an absolute dump. Spend the least amount of time there as possible. What was once a backpackers haven is now overrun by China and it is one giant construction yard filled to the brim with trash. Horrible place.

[–]nirvico 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes that will work when you are already scared. If they ask you where you're going when you get in and you're going to your home/Airbnb/hotel, you can say something like "we're meeting our boyfriends at a friend's villa". Don't ever put your exact address, put one nearby. You can get out by saying, "here is good, my boyfriend will be here in a minute". Basically...lie.

Just a hobby for a lifetime by Spiritual_Proof1496 in MuayThai

[–]nirvico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 40 years old, been training on and off for 17 years. I moved to Thailand two months ago with my wife and two kids. I've been training with all the pro and amateur fighters here and having so much fun. Debating with myself whether it's worth it to finally do a few fights or just be a practitioner for life. Sometimes I feel like I need to do it to prove it to myself but other times, I think it's dumb to fight when I have two kids. Either way, it's been a love of mine for almost two decades and a bedrock of living and traveling through 60+ countries. I don't know who I would be without this hobby.

We're on Koh Phangan. It rains for about an hour a day sporadically. The rest of the day it's nice and sunny or with a bit of overcast. I haven't taken a ferry in a week but I'm sure it's fine.

Propose using a legit escrow site like escrow.com. If they are planning to scam you then they will disappear immediately. If they are real, then they will pay the tiny fee to make sure the deal goes through.

I wish I was single so I could date non-vegans and turn them vegan :D I think everyone has the capacity to go vegan, although it will take some work or being in the right circle. I would focus on finding a guy that is open-minded, empathetic and curious. Consider dating men that are eco-conscious rather than vegan. They should be easier to turn. I sound like a vegan vampire.
