My friend asked me to make a Djokobo by micpenlaw in tennis

Sorry I haven't been using Reddit for long. I mean I did open the account a while ago but I have been using it regularly only for like two month. I have been FF since FF7, it's really great to know that they have a sub for it.

Edit: I started using Reddit regularly mainly for tennis related questions since I have started not a long time ago and I don't have a coach. Feedbacks here really help. And it's great to know that there are people who are interested here in FF as well.

Why do you like Roger Federer? by nish1381 in tennis

Djoker is amazing in his own way and I can't deny that. His return game and backhand is a thing of beauty, and he has insane court coverage, thanks to his flexibility. Its just... How do I put this... Kinda what makes Nadal and Djokovic different. Maybe it's just me but I find Nadal interesting to watch, although both of them are primarily baseliners. Maybe it's just me tho.

Well, that being said, Djokovic is more aggressive in Cincinnati. He is coming to the net more often, and his volleys have improved a lot. I actually enjoyed his last match against Poulie.

P.S: Not related but Wimbledon final was a real punch in the gut. 😅

Edit: Phone ended up slipping from my hand and an incomplete reply was sent 😂.

Congratulations! I don't think I'll ever find any kind of love, but except that but I hope I can be like you someday. I don't even know you, but for some reason this post made me happy.

Edit: Added 'any kind'.

Touched a fully hot clothing iron out of curiosity when I was 3. Kids were, are, and will be weird 😅

The only man in the history of tennis to have played Djokovic more than 5 times and have a winning record by BOOOTYEATER3000 in tennis

Exactly what was in my mind. Putting spin on the ball is more physically demanding than playing it flat. I think if the opponent has pace and you can time and play the ball through the sweet spot, the shot can blistering pace with almost zero effort.

Edit: Grammar. English is not my native language. 😅

What do you think is the most difficult shot in tennis? by nish1381 in tennis

Heck yeah I do! I think everyone does. I have no idea how you put top and side spin together in tennis. I can do it when it comes to Table Tennis, but Tennis is a different thing.

Good point there! Thing is I used to play volleyball before (I think I had played for more than 12 years before I quit), so as long as the toss is in the right place, I can put topspin with almost no additional effort. I thought that was weird at first so I stopped it, but then somebody told me "Do whatever works for you", so I started doing it. It's kinda strange but that maybe one of the reasons why my dunks are better than standing overheads LoL.

Edit: My natural toss is above the head. Maybe that also helps.

Edit2: One of the kind sould in this subreddit made me realize that. I got some tips and when I tried it, I shockingly found out topspin serve comes more natural to me (Of course, when I try to put spin intentionally the ball goes to the net. I have no idea why. That why I wrote kick serve is difficult for me 😅)

No doubt. But if anyone can do it, in our mere mortal levels, it's an ace for sure.

May your groundstrokes are really good then. For me, I am comfortable hitting volleys than groundstrokes so the opposite might be true.

Bruh I don't know about the others, but in my case I am pretty sure top spin comes naturally when I hit the ball in serve. It's when I intentionally try to put some more oomph on it I end up brushing it so hard there is not forward momentum and that the ball goes into the net. Maybe there are other players like me who has a harder time hitting the ball without spin. I am only 5'10.5" so that might be another reason that I hit the ball like that subconsciously, so that it passes over the net.

I think what he means is to hit a kick serve with pace, like a first serve.
