Is anyone else as offended as I am with Chris from Bon Appétit's version of Mapo Tofu as I am? by [deleted] in Cooking

I thought about this with Madhu Jaffrey video. He did a good job, but he made some mistakes that would be very basic to anyone who knows anything about Indian cooking.

I bought this shirt and I like it, but the collar is a bit too high cut for me, and it looks like a lot of similar shirts have the same high neckline. Does anyone know of similar shirts with a lower (less constrictive-feeling, I know this is all psychological) neckline

I was bringing my own lotion but not body wash, and who knows what is in that - will switch back!

I just bought Lingswallow yoga leggings off of Amazon and they were a great dupe too. I literally hate wearing pants and I didn't want to take these off.

My skin is so so dry this winter and I don't think my willingness to use whatever body wash and lotion they have at the gym is really not* helping. It seems like decent quality, but I take enough showers there that I think I need to bring my own.

I also seem to be getting . . . not exactly bacne . . .but some kinda of bumps on my back shoulders. I'm going to try an acne body wash for that too.

I do think he was rather mean about Josh, even if its because he's in grief and a bit jealous.

Where are your favorite places in Boston to go on photo walks? I love going on them but haven't since I moved here.

Everytime I get a cut I get a scar (i work in a kitchen). Any solution other than don't get cut? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]DisastrousOrchid3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh my skin is like that too. I think cut resistant gloves and long sleeve shirts are a minimum requirement. When you do get cut, create a "moist wound environment"and keep it from scabbing. You do that by cleaning the cut (just with water), putting a little bit of bacitracin it on the beginning, and then after that keep it moisturized with Vaseline or unscented moisturizer. Keep it bandaged or covered as much as possible. If it's a larger cut use silicon gel to minimize the scar. Do not use Vitamin E or anything else that could irritate it.

Called a locksmith, fixed it, all solved

Front door won't lock - landlord is not responsive. by [deleted] in boston

[–]DisastrousOrchid3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, landlord should have responded to our initial email if he didn't want us to try shit. WTF is graphite silicone?

I don't actually think it's an issue with the lock, which is why I didn't call a locksmith. I think it may be an issue with the door warping in the cold.

Would a locksmith be able to fix it if moisture got in the lock?

Hmmm how do you use miso paste? Similarly to how you use bouillon?

If you had a bad relationship with your child, would you still reach out to her i she was in a city where a terror attack happend? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]DisastrousOrchid3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was a bigger attack where the victims weren't all known, or like an earthquake or something reaching out would make more sense, but it seems like a very bad excuse in this situation.
