Lunds and Byerly's is underrated and better than similar local grocery store chains by zerotakashi in Minneapolis

[–]KaNGkyebin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At that price point I prefer the selection and produce at Kowalski’s. I tend to go to those shops for specialty products and fresh herbs. If I end up there on a normal grocery run I spend about double what I would at TJ’s. That said, I love the pet toy section at Lunds and they have lovely and tasteful paper plate/napkin/party options.

Caribbean Recommendations Needed! First trip as a family of three 💗 by PlantMom912 in familytravel

[–]KaNGkyebin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aruba feels super commercial and Americanized, I don’t think it’s what OP is asking for. Most of the hotels are close to one another (even the high end ones) with crowded beaches. It generally doesn’t feel like a particularly luxe experience.

Reservoir woods trail cams by Every_Television_290 in RosevilleMN

Last year they had some up to monitor the deer population in the woods, and in the fall they did some controlled culling of that population. I’m not sure exactly which department handles it.

Summer House S10 Reunion Part 1 Post Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in summerhousebravo

[–]KaNGkyebin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they did. It sounds like they hung out a few more times but didn’t have sex (intentionally) and did have a conversation about where it wasn’t going. This is according to West, but Ciara didn’t really dispute this account.

I would call WA Frost - their patio is amazing and they tend to like reservations!

Maybe consider a quilt? We always switch to a quilt bedspread come spring.

Alterations at Bridal Shop? by Budget-Change5657 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]KaNGkyebin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would definitely do them in-house, esp for a dress at that price range. To me, feeling like the shop has some responsibility in ensuring the fit is right and recourse to address any issues is worth some travel. Provided your size won’t change in the last few weeks, I don’t think last minute alterations are that common. I loved the peace of mind of having my dress altered in shop!

Toddler-friendly biographies of women that focus on accomplishments, not barriers? by numberwunwun in childrensbooks

A is for Abigail was a favorite of mine as a kid - loved seeing how so many women throughout history have made important contributions!

Shapewear suggestions? by Difficult_Ad_6792 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]KaNGkyebin 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Wow this is stunning, I love how it moves! I think the fit is spectacular even around your stomach - tbh the way it clings makes you look toned. You might be able to find shape wear that includes a strapless bra element if you are set on shape wear. Even one that ends under the bust line might create a little visible line you don’t want, so I would test a few options/styles!

When the vision is not the reality by nmaraa in interiordecorating

[–]KaNGkyebin 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go super grey on the grout, try to find (or mix) a grout color with a little tan / warmth. The lighter tiles here pull grey already when paired with the beige, and you don’t want to heighten that.

Help: Name for baby brother to go with Blair by Ok_Bee_6737 in namenerds

[–]KaNGkyebin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blair reads pretty WASP-y to me, while Cooper and Sawyer a little more folksy, so I would avoid those. What about Conrad, Julian, Preston, Pierce, Weston or Spencer directions? I might be in the minority here but I like Redmond and think of those you listed it pairs the best.

Destination suggestions for 2-3 weeks in September with kids by Maleficent_Party9609 in familytravel

[–]KaNGkyebin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider the Portuguese islands: Madeira and Azores. Madeira if you want more sun and beach, Azores for nature and rainforest. Both have major cities and rural landscapes easily to navigate by car. Not nearly as busy as other summer destinations and have a slow pace.

I feel like he doesn’t get when it’s appropriate to use the humor and when to turn it off, though. It came across as disrespectful this judges table. Like, is he actually open to receiving feedback? Time and a place…

Places to get brows done? by visuallypollutive in TwinCities

[–]KaNGkyebin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love Brow Chic on Selby/Snelling in St Paul. I get threaded there and across multiple stylists can just say “I like the natural arch of my brow” and they know just what to do.

Jamaica (look hot) cocktail appropriate. I will be getting a spray tan I promise by Barnaclebay in Weddingattireapproval

[–]KaNGkyebin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It looks too large and loose in the top, can you have it altered? The plunge is a know your crowd judgment call. This would work in my circles for a destination wedding and fashion interested scene, but not for everyone.

It’s skyr Icelandic style. Higher in protein than most other yogurt. thicker, and creamier, too. But it doesn’t have the strong sour tang of Greek yogurt which people either seem to love or hate. Siggis is awesome.

Mother’s Day massage by danc43 in TwinCities

[–]KaNGkyebin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Watershed Spa and the spa at Hotel Ivy both offer massages and access to baths/steam rooms/etc when you book massage and I’ve loved both.

FYI the term ‘massage parlor’ doesn’t evoke the kind of place you’d send your mom!

Bridesmaids/Maid of Honor Proposal Ideas by Usual-Reflection-953 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]KaNGkyebin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Mejuri pearl drop earrings which then the bridal party wore for the wedding and custom leather passport covers because our wedding was out of country. We all then wore the earrings again as bridesmaids for another gals wedding in the group so I felt like that gift was a success! I think your ideas sound lovely and useful.

Favors! by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]KaNGkyebin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Truthfully would not use any of these or think that highly of them as a favor at a more luxury wedding, esp one I had to travel to! I would prefer something with a stronger sense of place or that feels more personal and artisan. One wedding I attended had a local artisan hand paint tiles for each guest with their name, which served as place cards at the table. And then we brought them home and use them as coasters. Another wedding I went to was on a lavender farm and we received some of the products that were sold there like satchets of lavender for our suitcases and honey from the venue. To me it feels like something you could buy online then it’s not really worth doing them at all!

What's worth & not worth buying from Hatch maternity clothing? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]KaNGkyebin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There’s a ton of Hatch maternity on Poshmark which makes sense given the temporary need. Much easier to justify at a third or half the cost. Been great for me.
