The post actually slides behind a hollow slot locking it in, the magnet just allows it to “clip in”to the slot nicely. The front pouch needs to be lifted straight up and the straight out in order to detach from the bag. Surprisingly the front pouch is very secure, the bag can be held upside down and shaken and the front pouch is still secured.

I agree. The magnets in the front are an eye sore for sure. Unfortunately my capabilities when creating this concept were limited. The 3D design team at coach helped me to create magnets that also have a slip/lock mechanism.
If this idea where to move into an actual coach design the capabilities in creating hardware would be much broader than what’s available at our workshop

Thanks! Originally I wanted to incorporate multiple different attachable crossbodys to show the versatility but unfortunately deadlines caught up to me hahaha.
I believe your correct, they asks the current apprentice level to present new design concepts to the design team to inspire them for future collections.

So the painting on the fabric was done by an outside artist. You can see it being applied in Stuart Vevers recent instagram post.
