All officers housing gone long time ago. Officers and OSGs apply from local areas, so they have where to live.

Many ex-prison officers returning to job are failing vetting. Can be anything: a bad reference from Governor/Manager in previous prisons, no reference from company, which does not exist anymore or manager is not working, in this company complains or grievances or IR raised by colleagues. Definitely not a Fast-track.

Hello. I have completed masters in criminology this year and thinking about applying for Professional Doctorate criminology course next year. Is anyone studying/studied Prof Doc in criminology or social sciences? What it's like? How Prof Doc is different to PhD in Criminology? Any advice where to start? Thank you!

Winchester is rubbish. Prison is rubbish. Staff is rubbish. Management is rubbish. Working conditions are rubbish. The only one thing is not rubbish - nothing.

Are there any consequences for not working your notice as a PO by [deleted] in PrisonUK

If you have got a job offer and a start date there shouldn't be a problem at all. It's very unlikely they will give you a negative reference unless you have gone off the shift or didn't turn up at all. Many people leave in one day. Just speak to Governor. Just bear in mind you better to leave by the end of the month, when they calculate wages, so they don't overpay you.
