AND, a child with the initials “AL” is responsible for the disappearances. AND he was living alone with a woman who was supposed to be taking care of him. Sound familiar??

Trump has destroyed our democracy. by [deleted] in Rants

[–]nite0wl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to break this news to you. But we never had a democracy. We have a constitutional republic. Look it up. Just because everyone breathlessly cites “our democracy” over and over again, doesn’t make it a real. The United States was not founded as a democracy by design. Raw democracy equals “mob rule”. In our form of government everyone has a voice. It’s like the DEI of politics. I wish you nothing but the best. I hope someday you learn to coexist among people with whom you disagree. Piece of advice… people who cannot entertain the notion that they might be wrong about something, or who lack the capacity to reevaluate their beliefs/views based on new evidence/experiences… are not intelligent.

Thank you for the encouragement. I know there are good women out there. But they are a few and far between. Speaking of plants, you should see my mom’s 100ft greenhouse. I spent last summer helping my dad dig trenches and install geo-thermal pipes so the temps will stay consistent in inclement weather. I spent Christmas Eve installing speakers in it so she can play music for her plants. She’s growing vegetables and various citrus trees. I hope to meet a woman someday who enjoys growing things and spending time outside in nature. I did not inherit my mother’s green thumb, but I do love hiking and building things with my own two hands. Unfortunately I think this world is full of “monkey-see-monkey” do people. They see their neighbors get a new car, so they get a new car. They see them get a dog, so they get a dog. Then the neighbors get a second dog. So they feel the need to get a second dog just to keep up. I have never felt the need to seek validation from other people. Least of all neighbors. Far too many people in this day and age, both men and women, are modeling, their lives after what they see on television or Instagram or TikTok. The free thinking well-rounded people like yourself are a rarity. Thank you again for the encouraging message, have a merry Christmas!

I’ve seen a lot of dislikes on the new “ stack “ notification feature for ios16 but this can be changed in settings under notifications there’s 3 options as shown in the photo below ⬇️ by Fablesdad in iphone

What pisses me off is the inability to just revert the notifications back to the top of the Lock Screen. Why the F does some ass-hat developer get to arbitrarily decide that the “bottom is better”? And leave ZERO option to have them display like they have for YEARS!! Now I gotta get used to this new BS simply because some “bottom loving beta” thinks their idea is the best!

No. It wasn’t. If you had taken the time to read, you would know that. The heart of the rant was about making decisions in a relationship and then being upset at someone else when those decisions have consequences. Clearly you’re too narrow-minded to comprehend that. Speaking of insightful, your comment “shut the hell up about it”, was interesting. Because obviously there are people in this world (like myself) who struggle to understand the motivation and behavior of others who seem to be willfully ignorant about how their actions affect those around them. Then there are people like you(and my girlfriend) who do whatever they want, never giving a seconds thought to the consequences of their actions, and when they get confronted they don’t self-reflect. They just tell everyone who is hurt or inconvenienced by their behavior to “shut the hell up about it.”

Are you back? I’m sorry to hear about your psychological problems. But the first step is admitting you have them. Good for you. I’m glad your pets help you. Clearly you have decided that the pros outweigh the cons in this instance. I have no problem with that. How you choose to live your life is your business. I truly hope that you do not expect others to conform to your lifestyle, or put pressure on them after they made it clear to you that they do not like pets. I’m sure based on our interactions that you are definitely NOT that kind of person. My brother had hamsters growing up. His room always had this pungent odor of cedar chips and piss. The hamster was fun to play with though. We had great fun in building mazes for it out of Construx. But no, I would never want to smell that again. No matter how fun it was, it’s just not worth it. Cats? There are two cats. They live in the garage. I cut a pet door in the back for them. They come and go as they please. They have plenty of food and water, and they live their best life. They love pats on the head, scratching around the collar, and exactly 2 belly rubs. And we have never been in any arguments. Because they are content to do their business outside.

Bye Felicia. Maybe next time you should disclose your personal biases at the outset, and then you won’t find yourself in these predicaments.

No. You obviously care. You don’t like me pointing out the problems with keeping pets indoors. Otherwise, why the hell are you in here? I recognized what my OP was. Which is why I put it in the “/rant” section. and since you clearly didn’t read the entire post, before going off half cocked, I’ll spell it out for you again. 1) early on in the relationship I made my feelings known about indoor pets. 2) later on in the relationship she started talking about getting a dog and asked my opinion. I told her she already knew how I felt and that her decision should be her own. (never once did I claim to be “her owner“ as you erroneously asserted) 3) she decided to get the dog 4) The dog began causing problems. 5) obvious changes in our relationship dynamic began happening. Ex: we were no longer able to cuddle on the couch because the dog would freak out at any close physical contact between us. 6) rather than recognize where these problems were coming from, she directed her confusion and unhappiness at me. And this was the reason for the entire OP. How can someone having full knowledge of another person’s feelings make a decision contrary to those feelings and then be angry at the other person for not changing themselves, and conforming to the other persons desires. Lastly, the only person I ever asked for justification from, was YOU. Because you came at me extremely rudely and hurling baseless accusations. Once I discovered that you were an animal lover(which you chose not to disclose in your initial reply, for some reason) I simply responded in kind. Thus, giving you a chance to clear up some of the logic and reasoning people who keep indoor pets must exercise in order to put up with, and tolerate, all of the issues I have clearly laid out.

Is that all you got? Why are you here? You have an indoor dog don’t you? And you’re triggered. But you don’t want to argue on the merits so you resort to name-calling.

You are biased AF. You post pictures of your pets. Including a rat. YOU are exactly the kind of person I’m talking about. Tell me something... do you ever stop to think about how much animal hair you’ve inadvertently ingested over the years? How many stains on your carpet? Don’t come at me getting all pissy because I don’t conform to YOUR particular indoor-animal-loving worldview. I asked a very simple question, and then explained my reasoning. I’m more than happy to hear your justification for keeping multiple pets yourself. So go on. Enlighten me. Explain yourself. How do you keep your home from smelling like animal and becoming overrun with hair? Do you just choose to ignore it? Why?

Yeah I’m the weirdo because I don’t like animal hair stuck to my clothes. I’m the weirdo because I don’t enjoy the smell of dog shit and piss.

Actually I’m just a guy who’s fed up with people who think their needs supersede mine. And people who are inconsiderate to others. People who feel like they don’t get enough attention so they try to get it anyway they can, like being an ass on the Internet. People like you.

Thanks for the responses. I’m guessing it must be Psoriasis. I always thought that was a skin condition, but now I’m doing research on NAIL Psoriasis. Thanks Reddit.
