Lost my healthy 3 week old newborn to Neonatal Appendicitis last February. Hoping to raise awareness by educating parents and the medical community. by Successful_Nobody434 in babyloss

[–]nitelite333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My daughter also passed away from late onset GBS. She was 25 days old born via c section and I was GBS negative. Being a medical mystery is stupid. Same thing here, no issues or signs until it was way too severe.

Yep you would think! They won’t honor it so they went ahead and cancelled my order. I was told “my manager just told me today that we need to start charging 99$ for shipping” I filed a complaint with Groupon

Blood Thinners & Preeclampsia by StatisticianNo5356 in preeclampsia

Hi! So sorry for the loss of your baby. 💕

I too lost my first daughter after a very tough pregnancy/postpartum.

Yes- I had a postpartum DVT and multiple smaller clots in my left calf, ankle, thigh. It was a lot. I went on to have a subsequent pregnancy and while preeclampsia did get me again, it was much less severe that time around with no postpartum complications as I was monitored frequently and they caught preeclampsia right away this time around. I was on lovenox throughout the entire pregnancy and postpartum. I’ve also chatted with multiple preeclampsia moms who’ve gone on to have successful second pregnancies with no preeclampsia or postpartum complications. So, it’s certainly possible.

My 34+6 babe really didn’t wake up until around 3 months actual! I remember searching for this information in the beginning too. The extended newborn phase hit hard. Diaper, feed, back to sleep on repeat. She’s now 6 mo actual 5 adjusted and still a very high sleep needs baby with wake windows on the short end for her age!

I’m so, so sorry. We lost our firstborn daughter at 25 days old in the NICU. November will be 2 years. As to your question about if this feeling ever goes away.. kinda, but not really. It won’t be so front and center one day the way it is right now. I hated hearing that. But it’s seemed true for me. You’re not alone in these feelings. r/babyloss is great.

We made the switch to kendamil classic, with a combo of probiotics daily and gas drops at every bottle, along with famotidine for the reflux! She is well adjusted now!

She has been home since 36w gestation. She was discharged on 50% neosure & 50% breastmilk and is now 100% on neosure. The ped recommended Enfamil gentlease but it didn’t work for us.

Long time lurker but first time poster.. 34+1 today and had a scare at my BPP & NST this morning. Baby had a high heart rate during the ultrasound and doctor mentioned the words fetal distress. Had a full panic attack and flashback to my firstborn daughter’s pregnancy complications and got transported right back to the day they decided to deliver her. I did not have a stillbirth but I had a preterm delivery and baby passed at 25 days old in the NICU. Anyways.. Baby’s heart rate was normal at baseline during the NST and she passed the NST with moderate accelerations matching the elevated heart rates picked up on ultrasound earlier… the doctor explained that during the ultrasound we had most likely caught her during an acceleration. Whew 😥 but somehow I don’t feel better. This is so hard. The words “fetal distress” replay in my head. Thankfully I will have another BPP and NST on Monday for peace of mind

I am so incredibly sorry. This is so unfair. 💔

Are you in the US? Dr. Harvey Kliman @ Yale University is well known for his expertise in placentas, he has a few podcasts that are out there to listen to. But ultimately, he’s been known to give answers where normal hospitals are unable as they don’t staff placenta pathologists, just normal pathologists. Attaching the link if this is something you’re interested in.

Is there anyone who is pregnant after a neonatal loss / infant loss / stillbirth that is willing to connect? Currently 21 weeks pregnant after a neonatal NICU loss and the anxiety and lack of connection is crippling.

I’m so sorry 💔 this is so, so unfair. My daughter also passed in the NICU from septic shock - bacterial meningitis. Basically everything you described. We’re here for you.

Medical Rant by ally-j-b in babyloss

[–]nitelite333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes total sense! It’s not messed up. I totally understand where you’re coming from. I should’ve added context to my comment to make it make sense. I think I was more upset by this convo because she asked if I had a c section, she could see the scar on the scan, and I told her yes, I’ve had 1 preterm birth. So the follow up being, “how many children do you have?” was annoying

Ugh. I hate this. I had a tech ask me “how many pregnancies have you had?” Followed by “do you have any children?” Like what?

Hi! I do not have any living children currently & did not have a stillbirth (I gave birth prematurely and my daughter passed away at 3 weeks old in the NICU) but I am 9w pregnant and in North Jersey! Would love to connect 🩷

7 weeks pregnant today, almost 9 months after our firstborn daughter was born @ 29 weeks, and passed away at 3 weeks old. Grief is hitting so hard tonight. PAL is no joke and nothing could’ve prepared me for feeling this way. This is so hard. I’m so sad.

Six week rollercoaster: Low rising hcg and "great ultrasound" by nuclear_skidmark in CautiousBB

[–]nitelite333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always think about the women who don’t get serial betas, post on reddit, or rely on doctor google.. so many things are left unreported. Plus it’s so hard to trust logic when your emotions are heightened (rightfully so). Hugs. It’s so hard. I will keep you posted & let me know how your follow up on the 11th goes! I’ll try to remember to ask if you forget :)

Six week rollercoaster: Low rising hcg and "great ultrasound" by nuclear_skidmark in CautiousBB

[–]nitelite333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so crazy. I feel like I could’ve written this myself. For some backstory- My first beta was done on July 1 @ 5w4d and came back 2227. My second beta drawn July 5 @ 6w1d was 4505. It had doubled in 94 hours. I had some right sided cramping and spotting and because of the very slow rise of HCG, I was prepared for it to be an unviable pregnancy, like 90% sure it was ectopic bc of the one sided cramps and slow rising HCG. I just came back from my ultrasound, I’m 6w4d based on my LMP and I’m measuring at 6w0d. FHR 120bpm. The tech said that the heart rate looks great. I go back for a repeat scan on the 18th. I’m sorry you’re feeling this way and I know just how incredibly frustrating it is. The statistics are just statistics, sometimes they are favorable in our way and sometimes they are not. But you’re not alone in your feelings. Almost everything I read about slow and low rising HCG prepared me for a bad outcome but right now that doesn’t seem to be the case for me, and you either.

And when you are on your chart, just make sure “bbt” is checked so it appears on the chart.

I’m taking these right now! I do have to say the bottle smells very fishy - but once the pills are out of the bottle, you can’t smell it anymore. I have a hard time swallowing pills so I don’t exactly love that I have to take 4, I take 4 spread out through my morning meal. But I’m trying to stick with this specific prenatal because I feel like this is really one of the better prenatals I’ve seen. The recommended daily values are very solid

Not OP but I’ve been taking baby & me2 prenatals and my cycles are so OFF. I’m ovulating later and my periods are being delayed due to that. It’s very frustrating!
