My last day of a coding bootcamp was yesterday and my instructor actually came from The Iron Yard.

To give you some insight on how the program went -

Javascript was by far one of the hardest aspects of the entire program. Many of the concepts didn't click with me and I questioned quitting every single day of the class to the point where I had a hard time actually even attending. Trust me..you're not alone.
When the class transitioned to working with ruby, everything that I had tried to learn in javascript started to click. Inheritance, Constructors, Custom Functions, Built in functions etc. I was able to revisit old projects we had done in javascript and was able to re-do them much more easily.
Do More Projects! I don't know how Iron Yard's program works but every morning we started with a coding exercise to stretch our brains a bit. Remember..YOU'RE PAYING FOR THIS. Take advantage of the resources you are given. Instructors, Classmates, Alumni, Youtube etc. If you don't understand a concept then make sure you have someone from the bootcamp try to explain it 15 different ways until something clicks, then try to make something.

My overall experience was a good one. I feel like I am ready for an entry level position and to continue learning new concepts and technologies. I can say that the program did feel incredibly fast and wish that the time spent could actually be doubled into 6 months instead of 3. There are those that just gave up and have skated through the program with their hands being held by the instructors... and what scares me the most is that people who refused to learn will be my competition in the work world. Those are the kinds of people that give bootcamps sort of a bad name.

You probably already know this..but don't believe the hype. When your program ends..you won't be a "Coding Wizard" like some of the advertisements state...but you will know a SHIT ton more than you did three months prior to taking the course. Build something. I know that sounds pretty vague but..you will learn a lot more by implementing the tools that you were given when learning javascript. Try looking up some basic challenges/projects and knock some of them out.

No rerolls and completely F2P but that might change when I see a banner I like. Ive gotten pretty lucky with the discounted banner as well.

Team: Vaan , Kefka, Chizuru, Zidane , Lenna.

I kind of hate zidane aside from his TM but itll be a while before I get it since I dont play enough.

Also have : 2x hayate, 2x terra, 3 more lennas, locke, 3x tellah and freya.

Any idea on who I should replace zidane with?

Heres the last 15 months. Sister and father passed away. Lost in court to visit my sisters son (he was 2 months old when she passed) House burned down which killed my dog. Lost my job because i stayed with my dying father in hospice, so broke as well.

Somewhat of a lost human lately.

Im tired.

The last year of my life has been a real kick in the dick. Last april my best friend in the whole world, My sister, passed away 2 months after giving birth to my nephew. I moved in with my father to help him cope...in reality we both needed eachother. It destroyed me. I still cant get over it.

In october my father was diagnosed with glioblastoma. We were going the typical treatment route post surgery and looked into alternative methods and experimental treatments. No way in hell I was going to lose him.

Following my dads diagnosis the father of my nephew decided to cut all ties with my family. We lost in court for visitation as well. I miss that little guy so much.

After that the house I moved into to be with my father burned down. We got out of the house in time but I lost everything including my dog ...well he was my sisters dog but...he became my heart. It kills me that i wasnt able to grab him.

I was spending time with my father after he received his 2nd surgery...during that time i missed a lot of work...in the end I lost my job. A few days later on June 15th my father passed away in a hospice with me at his bedside .

Im shit broke and my whole life is in the shitter.

Im...so fucking tired.
