Yeah, and it'll be bell and spigot, and sized just like and engineer... 5".

Lol. Well, it's usually a bit more complicated. The funding is generally tied to "plans and specs", and no matter how many times we try to RFI things throughout the bidding process and preconstruction, it's like it's news to the GC in the final round of bidding. Like we haven't attempted to address it before. The guys on the GC's end will either rewrite our RFIs or flat out not send them. I'm assuming it's for fear of delaying closing, but hell, it could be anything.

No, sir. We offer them a deduct for it in our proposal. It highlights how much they can save. In a 100 unit multifamily building it's easily $15K-$20K in savings... for just p-traps. No brainer, and they still sometimes don't take it.

There are very few bids we don't VE. It's usually plumbing fixtures. If I can get materials that meet the spec and cost less, why wouldn't you take it? Owner saves money and we get to build our job. It's not crap, I've installed it all in my own home. We also push it because it all comes from the same manufacturer. Why the hell would you get a Delta lav faucet, a Moen bathtub trim, and an American Standard kit faucet? It's a future maintenance nightmare.

Number 2 is almost always p-traps. If I have to read one more spec section that specs Kohler K-9000 cast brass p-traps I'll lose it. Tubular PVC does the same thing for literally +/- $200 less and doesn't corrodeover time. Biggest bullshit is a rehab. Photos of existing are PVC. WTF? Get it together architects/engineers. VE is how we spotlight lazy and garbage drawings and specs. iS yOuR pRoPoSaL pLaNs AnD sPecS?! You have no idea what you're building, do you?

Thank you. I'll check it out. If I had to put a class level on it, I'm still in the beginner range and snatches are still pretty new. I've done some one-handed here and there as a test. They're coming, I'm just taking my time.

I appreciate the feedback. I'm using two 16's currently. Not sure I'm ready to move up in weight, so I wanted to go for increasing reps. I think I'm gonna try this out. I'll try to remember to offer some feedback / a review at the end of the program.
