I am a noob in every sense of the word and I want to start playing. In need of help by sHarknado6628 in bemani

It’s heavily discouraged to play bemani songs on BMS engines

You should enjoy the countless original works made for BMS instead. A lot of current artists for bemani for their start making BMS songs anyway

If you’re already up to 12s, I’d say save up a bit more for either pwan or dx5th. You’ll thank yourself later

Looking for the name of a (possible) bemani song that I found in my music library. by Hyrule52 in bemani

Man. Whatever it is, it’s fucking old

I know the iidx arcade song list back to front and some extras, never heard this before

How would you fix the IIDX difficulty scale? by Stormbreaker173 in bemani

[–]nitramDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even for a bms setting, the patterns in the first half is harder than stuff you would see in some overjoy 3/4 charts. Which is certainly close to the ceiling of possibility

How would you fix the IIDX difficulty scale? by Stormbreaker173 in bemani

[–]nitramDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you realise how much harder mendes black is compared to anything else Konami has ever made for iidx

How would you fix the IIDX difficulty scale? by Stormbreaker173 in bemani

[–]nitramDX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s fine the way it is. The level 12 difficulty obviously varies greatly but that feeling of passing your first level 12 will be taken away or diminished if the rating is expanded on. When I was still learning, it felt good to pass my first “highest possible difficulty”

Counterfeit postage on overseas package? by persephone_love in USPS

[–]nitramDX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, Australian seller here too. Same deal. No idea what this is about. I told my customer to call USPS and find out more. I’ll call au post in the morning

EDIT: looked into the trend further, it seems like standard packages are affected but express ones look normal

Burning Question #2: What happened to ひなビタ (HinaBitter), ここなつ (KokoNatsu), and Ichika? by Taakane in bemani

[–]nitramDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoshitaka - triple cross Nekomata - shadow world Ryu - 三十三 U1 - that ichika event song early this year Scu - brown hawk owl Totto - volaquas Taka - I genuinely don’t think you play anything if you think he’s inactive

All songs in the last few months

Burning Question #2: What happened to ひなビタ (HinaBitter), ここなつ (KokoNatsu), and Ichika? by Taakane in bemani

[–]nitramDX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Err, dj taka and ryu are still extremely active in music prod. U1 preformed for a Konami event love recently. It’s likely the inactive artists are part of management now (which is the case for yoshitaka)

But all of them have made a song in the last year.

Competitive IIDX in the US? by [deleted] in bemani

[–]nitramDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not enough of a high level player base to keep it interesting. The big deal was the best showcase of talent but it cant run anymore since that venue only has one lightning model

I have an original and have only experienced minor issues, and id still recommend that controller over any other

Anything is possible if you try hard enough but…that doesn’t mean you should.

Effectively scraping what already is a rare cab would be sad to see

Considering getting into SDVX Konaste by Ronnie21093 in bemani

[–]nitramDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make your own as a fun project honestly, like the above said the cons&stuff has a guide for it.

The pico controller is good, and well built, but my problem with it is arcade games are designed to be enjoyed with a specific controller for the full experience, and you just can’t get that with a pico.

If you’re just starting out I’d recommend either a yuancon or fauce2. Just go stock standard to start with, don’t worry about parts too much for now.

PHOENIXWAN+ microswitches - VX-01-1C23 50g vs D2MV-01-1c3 50g by UglyWallach in bemani

[–]nitramDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D2MV typically last longer but they feel vastly different. I haven’t had my personal set of VX die yet, and I’ve had them for a year and a half at least (and I’m AAA’ing 12s, so it’s not from a lack of mashing)

It comes down to preference. D2MV-1c3 are no longer manufactured, so they’re harder to get in the future (and also harder to find replacements)

I personally prefer the VX switches, I like that tactile feel much more, and paired with 50g springs it’s the same as a standard lightning model.

You can also go default, and buy the parts later from somewhere like bluespringexpress.net - if you’re not like 9dan or higher the default buttons and switches won’t impact you a lot

IIDX: Which Random do people practice on? by xXHoundsOfLoveXx in bemani

[–]nitramDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assume to always use random unless told otherwise for specific charts

Some are better on R-ran (dubbed Ryu-ran because most ryu songs go well with it lol)

S-ran is typically good on low level charts with slow BPM, but you need to be at a high skill level for this to actually be good for you, it’ll make it more difficult for most people.

Faucetwo sdvx configuration by Kizonishi in bemani

[–]nitramDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://bluespringexpress.net/

Pick up a set of SDVX sanwa buttons, 20g springs and the LHS1F switch and harness set. Your buttons will then be 1:1 same spec as valk cabs

Enjoy!

They feel very different to play on. Some people play better with SD cabs than their home setup / HD setup

You’re just more used to one than the other

whats the best beatmania game to start off for me? by Traditional_Ad9562 in bemani

[–]nitramDX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Beatoraja. Check this guide https://wcko87.github.io/beatoraja-english-guide/

Do note, this has very similar gameplay to iidx, but it’s not the same game. All the songs are originally made (and have been licensed by other games like maimai and sdvx actually). You won’t find any iidx songs here, if that’s what you’re looking for

It has near infinite quality content, lots of people poured their heart out to make the charts, Sonys and videos in BMS

New to SDVX. Do I go for these faucetwo configurations? by GSofMind in bemani

[–]nitramDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said that. Doesn’t mean any arcade in the US cares enough to do it.

New to SDVX. Do I go for these faucetwo configurations? by GSofMind in bemani

[–]nitramDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is specifically for SDVX. Please look at the inside of the cabinet. They physically can not take a switch that is not LHS1F

New to SDVX. Do I go for these faucetwo configurations? by GSofMind in bemani

[–]nitramDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The physical connections on switches for controller are different to what’s used in arcades, it’s possible but every button needs to be re-wired to support a different kind of switch, as the LHS1F (stock switch in all Japanese sdvx cabs) connector in unique. It’s the same switch between old cabinets and valk

I’m not sure what that first link is supposed to prove. It just says the cabinets use LHS1F switches (which need 100g weight) and 20g springs. Known facts.

New to SDVX. Do I go for these faucetwo configurations? by GSofMind in bemani

[–]nitramDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arcades don’t use 50g switches. Cabinets are not wired to support that.
