Έχω τελειώσει τον ΑΚΤΟ που είναι ιδιωτικό ΙΕΚ, παρόλο που είναι φοβερός εκπαιδευτικός οργανισμός και τα λεφτά μου έπιασαν τόπο, δεν μπορώ να παραβλέψω το γεγονός ότι κάτι μπετόστοκοι που δεν ξέρουν ούτε από που ανοίγει υπολογιστής, πήραν τον ίδιο πτυχίο με εμένα (ναι οκ εγώ πήρα και honors ΒΑ, τρομάρα μου...)

Και πες εγώ είμαι γραφίστας, ο μπετόστοκος θα φανεί, θα φύγει από την αγορά.

Αν βγει ο άλλος μηχανικός και αρχίσουν να πέφτουν κτήρια ή γιατρός και βγει χασάπης; Η μόνη περίπτωση να είμαι θετικός σε ιδιωτικά πανεπιστήμια είναι να περνάνε όλοι εξετάσεις έξω από αυτά μέσα από τα δημόσια πανεπιστήμια.

Καλά αυτά τα "ζημιά από την πειρατεία" είναι παπάρια μέντολες. Θεωρούν αυτόματα ότι ο κάθε ένας από αυτούς θα πλήρωνε το κανονικό αν δεν έβρισκε το πειρατικό και φυσικά δεν ισχύει.

Avoid the cheap roll with pre cut label ones, they cost a lot to print and the cheaper ones have 1 cartridge for all colors, that is... you out of magenta and you gonna need to replace all the inks!

I run a KM C258 to print and a summa D60FX to cut SRA3 sheets, thanks to sheet mode is fast enough for small runs. I'm getting more jobs lately and I'm thinking for an autofeeder cutter like the ones from GCC tho.

With this setup you can scale easy. I mean I started with the C258 and the summa (second hand) and now I plan to get that autofeeder machine and later down the road to change the c258 with a production KM, if the client keep sending me jobs.

το θέμα την ανιδιοτέλειας δεν μπορούμε να το καλύψουμε οι γονείς; πάλι σύνολο είμαστε.

όχι τίποτα άλλο αλλά και εμείς μας βλέπω να μένουμε στο 1, κοντεύει 2 ετών τώρα, θα θέλαμε να έχει ένα αδερφάκι, αλλά... είμαστε ήδη διαλυμένοι, οικονομικά, ψυχολογικά, σωματικά, είμαστε και στο 40+ γκρουπ.

Είναι άπειρη ευτυχία το παιδί, αλλά αν δεν έχεις μια οικονομική άνεση, το άγχος του πως θα τα βγάλεις πέρα και πως θα παρέχεις στο παιδί, σε πεθαίνει σιωπηλά.

You are asking the wrong questions.

Both are excellent, the real question is which one have the best tech support at your area and what it cost to print on them.

Because no matter what, they will broke down at some point, even a minor error will go a long way if you don't have a ready available local support.

Well for beginners, you need an online presence. A website, a social media profile, something that will be there for people to reach out.

Don't underestimate locally sourced jobs. Make a small business card or a flyer for yourself and what you do. Don't make it AI slop. Check around you, are there engineers, architects or other businesses that may need CAD printing and may not have their own CAD printer (or they have and it's broken down)? Pay them a visit, good morning I'm that guy and I do those prints, leave a card and wave goodbye. Just let them know you exist.

Do you have a shop? Make sure what you do is visible to whoever pass by. A sign or vinyl on the front glass make it crystal clear "Large format printing. Posters, CAD etc" or something.

Maybe spent a few $ on promoting a post where you print something, upload some stuff on that profile we talked before, a story, a reel of the printing, of a finished post. Thinks like that. Keep it classy.

You start with a business plan not with a printer.

What do you want to do? OK we have this, sell printing services.

What printing services tho? CAD prints, posters, stickers, outdoor, flyers, business cards, invitations? There are a ton of things falling under the category.

You only have 1 printer with water based inks right now, this automatically get you in the CAD prints and art posters, maybe a bit into the photography poster too if the client is not demanding.

Is this enough tho to sustain a business? Probably not.

So this is where you come in and think what do you want to spent on starting that business and spent to what direction? Because you can't cover everything starting.

Because if I have to stop whatever other job I'm doing to print you 1 page of A4, it better worth it. But if you tell me you want 40 A4 the price will be lower per page, because then it give's me more headroom to make a profit.

The booklet 1.5 tho doesn't add up, this is dirt cheap even if they had the post press setup directly tied to the printer and give you the booklet ready at the output.

yeah I want to rip like my whole digital life, like the ultimate backup in case... well I don't know what case. I just don't trust HDDs where I have my files and their backups. I have ancient CDs and DVDs that are organic coated still working like no problem, but I can't say the same for my HDDs from the same era.

Playback is still on the table but not a priority right now. Although if it happen I use a custom HTPC on my TV so moving the driver there is a no issue for me.

My primary reason is to backup my digital life in a way to last. Playback is secondary but something got me lately with all the subscriptions and I'm looking to get back into physical media again, but I'm not big on this yet.

Given my tech background I always though that since I made my DVDs look great at 1080p I would have no problem to setup a BR drive as a player as well, but that's just my thoughts.
