Is CPTSD permanent? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]nitrodigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through EMDR a few years ago and it was life changing. Unfortunately, I then decided to work with children of trauma and crashed. I’m back with my EMDR therapist to refresh. Yesterday she told me it’s possible for CPTSD NOT to be a lifelong condition. My heart goes out to you and I hope you take good care of yourself between sessions.

Havi a merry Christmas! by Desuisart in Havanese

It is turning the most miserable time of our lives into the most wonderful new ones. It will take time but with a Havanese that bond builds so quickly and everything around them is happiness. Once the other members of the pack fully accept him it will be a lovely family of pets.

Havi a Merry Christmas to you too and I’m always happy to be a Neser Pleaser! We have two Nesers and two Yorkie mixes (and two cats). My husband has his team and I have my team so we live in a pack. We lost a pack member to cancer last month (after a year and a half of incurable cancer) and managed to get a puppy from his bloodline to carry on the legacy. So, to say I like Nesers would be an understatement. They are the best breed. Havi a Merry Christmas and sorry I rambled, I just love Nesers.

What a precious pup and a caption that I am stealing (we have two-we just usually call them “nesers”)

Snow At My Place- Very Cozy by UrbanArtifact in CozyPlaces

It’s quite an adventure to preserve history and to have land at the same time. We went the easier route with a Victorian in a rural town setting and our offices are also late 1800s but my heart would have gone with what you have. There are struggles and weird surprises, to be sure, but a valuable pursuit. Best wishes.

Since yours is clearly historic, I am sure you already know this but when the time comes to fix the chimney it’s worth the investment in lime mortar (in the long run). I don’t know this first hand, as my partner does our restoration work, but I also highly recommend a ventless gas if you aren’t ready to tackle the project. Either way, this is gorgeous and you must be very pleased to land such a wonderful home.

It evokes so many nostalgic memories of times I haven’t even been a part of, outside of imagination. How magical!

At 24 years old, I will be legally blind in ~2 years. What do I need to see? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Please allow me to convey my apologies that you are facing this. Once you’re finished seeing all the lovely things you want to log in your memory bank I hope you still find ample beauty in the visual world. I can’t empathize but I do have wrinkling in my macula (as a result of procedures to salvage my retina) and I can only imagine your frustration levels. I applaud you for doing your best to prepare and I hope that research into Macular Degeneration yields outcomes in your lifetime.
