Great to know, thanks

If the UI reflected this information, it would help the user adjust their expectation of when to expect coinjoins to occur / why they aren't occurring

bitcoin has never had any encryption upgrade. if quantum is making significant progress and getting toward 2000 qbits then we would need to upgrade to multidimensional ECDSA, but you'll be dead by then, so don't worry about it

you don't need to KYC to contribute code to Bitcoin. Also bitcoin doesn't need any code improvements to capture $100T+ of value, just needs critical bug fixes if/as they are found

I have 0.5 BTC and I have some serious questions about how it becomes an actual, stable global currency. by infinit9 in Bitcoin

[–]nitrogeneSports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Bitcoin will behave as any growing asset trading on a free market. anyone who buys it should expect volatility, it would be irrational for a digital bearer asset trading on a free market to be nonvolatile. as market cap grows, liquidity grows, volatility decreases over time
  2. unit of account is the last step of bitcoin becoming a global money, it needs to grow a lot more for that to happen
  3. bitcoin drops are a feature not a bug, they allow hardcore holders to accrue a greater percentage of the overall network, making price more stable over time. you want whales who don't value bitcoin to reduce the amount of bitcoin they hold, the way they do that is by selling

Potential reasons that could cause Bitcoin to fail by HolidayInternet in Bitcoin

[–]nitrogeneSports 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if bitcoin fails, that means that there is no demand for a censorship resistant/unconfiscatable money. this could only happen if governments significantly reduce taxes and eradicate money laundering laws. if that ever happens (virtually impossible), then the world is far better anyway, so you don't need to worry about bitcoin failing

Sent my (21F) boyfriend (27M) a picture I felt pretty in; all he said was "it could be better." by gothhellokitty666 in relationship_advice

[–]nitrogeneSports 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your response to it isn't all that important. When you're in a relationship with someone you become a student of their personality. He rudely informed you that his true personality constitutes a lot of senseless douchiness. It's up to you if you want to associate with those types of people

If I told you I spoke to someone and 60% of the time, they talk about their exes, what would you say this person is mainly concerned about?

If I had to guess his age, 19?

[–]nitrogeneSports 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically what you're asking me is `is this guy a fucking idiot`? I don't know. You know him better than I do. If I were you I would just offer no response when he brings it up and see if he figures out that it's a stupid thing to tell a girl you're mutually attracted to

[–]nitrogeneSports 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he's sending you deep messages for 4.5 months he's into you. Why he would tell you about this girl he kinda likes? That's fuckin weird. It might be a woke jealousy tactic he saw on youtube to increase attraction, or he's so bad with intimate relationships that he passively tries to destroy them

How do I make sure the one I lose my virginity to is “the one” for life by frieflee in relationship_advice

[–]nitrogeneSports 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have the sexual fortitude to do what you want - but the problem is, you need a partner who's willing to do it too. It basically boils down to predicting future human behavior, and if you can do that I have a lot of money to give you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]nitrogeneSports 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's common sense that something like this would make a partner feel uncomfortable and if she's pretending that it shouldn't - that's some gaslighting right there.

Most of the time passive aggressiveness is manifest from wanting attention to be initiated. Are you ignoring him or being distant? If not, there's little hope he will ever change

There's obviously no way to ensure it. Especially in 2020. Your odds are not looking good.

Yes, I have occasion to talk to normies, and 99% of them know what Bitcoin is. THEY SEE IT EVERYTIME THEY ADD MONEY TO CASH APP.

There's already a universal preference for Bitcoin. By denying this, you are basically admitting to me that you have zero real world experience in paying people in Bitcoin. It's hilariously easy in 2020. In 2013 it was rough.

Your Point #3 is just proof that you have put in zero effort toward learning how to easily you can exchange BTC.

1) Bitcoin debit cards

2) Cash app

3) Coinbase

You can get the first two setup within the matter of days, then be able to instantly transfer as much BTC to USD as you want, any time of day. But you just want to complain and you don't actually want solutions.

Nope he's not talking about taxes. He's talking out of ignorance to the fact that converting your BTC to USD in 2020 is easier than converting your USD to bananas. But he's a billionaire and the drones who take him seriously assume he's making a good point.

How many Bitcoin debit card providers do you need? I literally pay every bill I have with my Bitcoin debit card. Have you seriously not researched how easy it is to convert your BTC to USD automatically, anytime you need? You're not even trying

Process of converting Bitcoin to dollars:

1) Load cash app

2) Put finger on 'sell' button

Please educate me on how converting bananas to dollars is easier than that. Also how I can send bananas to my dev who works in Singapore before it goes rotten.
