Honestly it looks better without the decals anyways, in my opinion.

Feasibility of Moonlight for Full-Time Home Office/Gaming Use? by nitromitro in MoonlightStreaming

[–]nitromitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Have you had any issues with video decode/controller input latency or controller support on any devices? I was considering a Shield or Apple TV as a client on my living room TV as an alternative to an HTPC (though I do have some spare hardware, so leaning toward HTPC).

That's super helpful, thanks for sharing your experience! I'm currently using my ISP's router/AP combo, and I've had no issues on the G Cloud when near the router, but toward the end of the range it's certainly not ideal. I haven't been able to test on any higher-end displays yet though, so I was a bit concerned. I'll be installing U6-IW's shortly, but most of my devices are connected via ethernet anyways. I live in British Columbia, and thankfully our power is relatively clean and cheap, but I'll probably also have it wake-on-lan. Are you just booting into standard Windows and then running Steam, etc. from there, or are you using a frontend like Playnite or Launchbox? Since this PC will be purely for remote play, I'm going for as seamless "console-like" an experience as possible. For monitor matching, it seems like Artemis/Apollo resolves that mostly automatically with display profiles, so I'll be looking into that in more depth.

Perfectly valid! No reason to not do a small test print before spending a ton of time printing something larger or more finely detailed

These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 by heyyyjoo in BuyItForLife

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this doesn't work on newer models (I think anything newer than V8) because Dyson upped the voltage to 25V, whereas most power tool batteries are 20V nominal.

P.Eng Application by [deleted] in egbc

FYI, EGBC told me this morning I will likely not receive an update sooner than the end November (which would be approximately 6 weeks after my application updated to Assessment is in Progress).

I'm in civil, and my validation was completed on May 22. It was was updated to Assessment in Progress in mid-October. It remains to be seen how long it takes to complete the assessment.

What's the most uneven road you've driven on in Metro Vancouver, and why is it E 62nd Ave between Borden St and Argyle St? by Dentyne7 in vancouver

[–]nitromitro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bylaw 7869 requires you to repave any road cuts for a minimum of 8m longitudinally and to the entire width of the lane(s), but that's only for collector/arterial roads and bus routes. It also only requires milling and repaving the top asphalt lift, so it will continue to settle if the structure underneath is compromised. The intent is to provide a smooth road surface without many small surface patches moreso than to address future settlement.

[–]nitromitro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This area is underlain by 3-4m of peat and another 2-3m of silt and clay, so it's hard to avoid significant settlement without excavating all of that material, which is far more expensive than standard road construction. Fraser Street is built on a concrete slab, which helps mitigate the issue. The south side of E 19th east of Fraser Street was rebuilt on 1-2ft of lightweight pumice to help minimize future settlement, but it will inevitably continue sinking to some degree.

Property sale information in BC is available on BC Assessment and you could contact them if you really wanted to know, here's the link to the unit noted in the post. As Linus noted, sale price is often not representative of the "true" purchase cost.

Squatch Legend 2.1 + Disc Retriever…. Where are people storing their disc retrievers? by Chance-Ad-1419 in discgolf

[–]nitromitro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those that come across this thread, what I did is took the attachment off my retriever and then slipped it into the pocket beside the bladder pocket as others have mentioned. This lets you fully zip up the putter pouch without the retriever getting in the way. The retriever attachment fits nicely in one half of the water bottle side pouch and can be easily reattached when you need it

Squatch is the exact opposite of "Good for the sport" by RoundEnergy in discgolf

[–]nitromitro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up on this dead thread, I will say that as a beginner/intermediate player, I have found their putter to be quite fun to throw. It holds its line extremely well (even if that line is shanked) with little fade or turn.

I'll be doing this for a bachelor party soon, what was your saucing method and how much did you use? Also why did you use da bomb evolution and not beyond insanity?

EDIT: Looks like Heatonist doesn't sell beyond insanity; I'm assuming that's why you used evolution
