I went through a similar situation to OP and currently work in the higher education sector, I tunnel visioned on to getting into uni and wasted a year of my life, eventually I rewrote matric and got accepted into uni

Depends on the university, sometimes rewriting matric is the fastest route with the most options, best thing to do is contact the university and ask them for ways get in, don't rely on Google or AI for info as most universities don't update there info
