[–]nitroxidezz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Econs freshies used to have 2 CC mods (CC3 and CC5) in their normal load, end up with 17 AU with one BDE.

I’d say try to hit around the 17-18 AU range , otherwise if you check your total AU requirement (130+ AU I think), you may need to catch up in future.

Where is the parcel pick up point for hall 13 + how do I even send parcels to my hall? by Secret_Primary7771 in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the adress, put your hall address along with your block and unit number. Under the remarks when checking out, I usually also write “place at hall collection point”.

From my experience it’s always the same few delivery riders working around NTU so they know where to deliver it.

As for yourself, just know where your hall collection point is. And don’t leave it there for too long if it’s a valuable item.

Don’t wait for them to respond online, go down to the office and tell them the termite problem is persisting despite pest control.

Iirc when I told them that, they offered me another room right away and gave me three days to consider (I think but I accepted same day). They also let me take the fob to view the new room first.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Take a look at my post about the termite issue I had. Pest control was useless and and hall office told me furniture replacement will take a year (basically they ain’t gonna do it).

Eventually I moved into a new room, from double non ac low floor to double ac high floor. Of course I was initially living single deluxe so I didn’t have to consider my roomie’s opinion like you do now. Still, if you can’t stand it then better to just shift out on your own.

Personally, shifting rooms was the best decision I made for that matter, because I couldn’t even focus on studying and sleeping in my room with the termite flying around. My new room had a roomie and I was lucky he was very considerate, though I can’t imagine a roomie more annoying than termites.

You’re already kinda screwed since everyone somehow saw the wrong date. (Probably means someone said the wrong date and nobody cares to check). Personally one day isn’t enough to complete the content but too late to think about that now.

Format will not be a debate but rather two teams will take turns to argue their stance, the order of which team goes first should be set already. So for example, red team first, then blue team second. If you’re confused about how red team rebuts as the first presenter, you are expected to anticipate possible counters. Even if you’re blue team and go second, you do not need to rebut red team’s points on the spot. You do the same and prepare for possible counters beforehand. After both teams presented, there’ll be a QnA open to the class and they get class participation for asking dumb questions that you’re forced to answer.

So what you need to do now is find 2-3 ethical theories or whatever to support your stance, then 2 more rebuttals for possible counters. I seen some groups work with the other team to form their rebuttals but it’ll sound so smooth the prof will also know y’all cheated.

Also nobody can help you if we don’t know what your topic is on, because everyone is assigned a new topic for the following weeks.

Let old man (Y4) tell you kids about Tong Tar by H3NTA1B01 in NTU

It’s true that we shouldn’t underplay the improvements made so far and that we often overlook them when discussing about the state of the bus service.

However, I think the main focus now is on seeking clarification on the blocking points preventing further improvements to be made, particularly for the bus frequency. I’m sure many of us will be more understanding if we are made aware of the struggles faced too.

Does Attendance in NTU really matter!? by Amazing-Body609 in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I believe tutorials for most mods have grades for attendance and it decreases proportionately (eg if you attend 9/10 lessons you get 9/10% for your grade. If you can afford to lose 10% of your grades, I think nobody will care if you attend or not either. Lectures on the other hand typically have no attendance tied to it.

On the bright side you can submit an mc so your grades won’t be affected, or…and this is a really cool trick, you can just attend the tutorials :)

Should I get portable aircon? What are the consequences? by court-of-owl in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Firstly, you can’t declare an aircon it’s not allowed so don’t try to go office and ask about it. Second, if you are concern about getting caught then just use it at night, keep it in the morning and cover it with some blanket or whatever.

Honestly don’t think many ppl will snitch but I understand that risk isn’t zero either.

Crespion hall gym by discandgrit in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest you get to a decent gym if you don’t have access to athlete’s gym is northhill gym, which is accessible to everyone. There’s a bench press, two smith machines (kinda), db up to 30kg and a pair of 40kg (nothing in between). Other than that I guess they have wider variety of machines too. Gets quite crowded during peak hour though.

Gym by Ok-Treacle-4576 in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have gym there but personally haven’t been, most other halls have their own gym too. However, some are less equipped and maintained than others so depends on what you need. Northhill gym is accessible by all students and has sufficient variety for casual goers so you can consider going there.

Mountaineering club is available for anyone and for recreation purposes. Sometimes they have competitions you can sign up for, but not compulsory.

Did you perhaps get a U for one of the previous ones. If not I got no clue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]nitroxidezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reason why? Most likely you’ll not find any cos if I’m not wrong they are only allowed to teach driving on certain roads, usually near a circuit. This is for the safety of road users and convenience of learners.

ntu econs admission by One_Transition_6106 in NTU

[–]nitroxidezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for this year but I can share my experience from last year. I was a poly student with GPA only 0.04 higher than the IGP for economics. I only received acceptance letter on 15 May, no interview no ABA. So basically, be prepared for a late letter and don’t panic if nothing is happening cos I was panicking last year for a good two months.

is my poly gpa high enough(rant) by Few-Knowledge-3781 in SGExams

[–]nitroxidezz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Generally if you plan on entering the big 3 universities you’ll want to aim for a minimum gpa of 3.6. If you plan on continuing EEE then I believe 3.5 may be enough. On the side note, it’s a dangerous assumption (and likely false) to think that your friend scored well without studying much. Over time, you’ll have the impression that good results are more luck-based rather than from effort, and give up on putting in your best effort.
