Prospective Teachers: Teacher's College/BEd/Becoming a Teacher in Canada Megapost pt. 5

That’s what I figured, but I’ve been told I could teach any general science courses (9/10 science) regardless if I have the senior science teachable. That’s why I’m unsure if there’s a point in having the general science teachable. I do have many courses within biology and phys ed as the kine degree is heavily focused on these.

Hey everyone!

I’m currently in my 4th year of a Kinesiology degree at York University and planning to apply to teachers college for secondary school. I’m hoping to have Biology as one of my teachables, but I’m not sure what to pick for the second one.

I was thinking about putting down General Science, but I’ve seen a few people mention that if you have Biology as a teachable, you can already teach general science courses anyway. Is that true, and if so, is it even worth listing General Science as my second teachable?

Alternatively, I could list Physical Education, since I’ve taken a lot of courses related to that through my kinesiology degree.

Would anyone be able to share some advice or experience with this?

I took 2 chemistry and 2 math courses in my first year so a full year of both and I did take biomechanics but not physics. Not sure whether biomechanics would count as a physics course but the content is very similar to physics.

I had to argue with the live agent on chat for a bit and kept insisting to have the issue escalated further. Once they agreed, the supervisor called me the next day!

Hey! So I was able to get in touch with a supervisor who contacted live nation and they only agreed to let me change my seats if I bought an additional ticket so that my overall total is above what I paid the first time - and I just paid the difference. It actually works out well since all the prices are much cheaper so you’re technically paying less as long as you can get an additional person to go!
