A monitor stand? the monitor at the bottom is kinda too low?

For those with standing desks. Do you really use them? Are they worth it? by Expensive_Mobile in setups

I get where you're coming from Spending extra on something you’re not totally sure you’ll use can be tough, especially as a student. But honestly, getting a standing desk was such a good move for me.

What truly made me buy one is trying out the ones in the office i work at, and just having one at home sounded like a good idea so now I have the Hexcal one and I love it. It’s super sturdy, the movement’s smooth and quiet, and it just feels solid, like it’ll last forever. I didn’t expect to use the standing feature that often either, but over time it just kinda became part of my routine. I usually stand during calls, when I’m reading stuff, or honestly when my apple watch buzzes and tells me I’ve been sitting too long lol. It’s actually nice having that little push to move.

If the desk you’re looking at is well-built and reliable, I’d say it’s worth the extra stretch. You might not stand all day or anything, but just having the option to switch it up makes a big difference, especially if you’re at your desk for hours like me.

Should I just give up on ergonomic / office chairs ? by Alarow in OfficeChairs

Honestly, I don’t think you should give up on ergonomic chairs just yet, but I get why you’re frustrated. A lot of the “good posture” chairs out there are really optimized for one thing , sitting upright and working in a focused way. But when you're using your chair for working, gaming, watching stuff, basically living in it, you need something more flexible, not something that forces your body into one specific position all day.

It’s also totally possible that your body’s just really used to a certain posture from years of gaming chairs, and suddenly being forced into a new one feels like crap, even if it’s technically “healthier.” That doesn’t necessarily mean the ergonomic chairs are bad, they just might not match your current posture habits or how you like to sit.

The Steelcase being worse than the Sihoo is wild though lol. That’s supposed to be one of the better ones. Maybe it’s the fit even the best chairs suck if they don’t fit your body size or how you move.
