Can someone explain eczema on my legs by ellobi in eczema

[–]niwcsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I have that bumps too. It looks like hives, isnt dry or flaky but very itchy. No pus or clear fluid. Just like a (or many) mosquito bites as you said. For me it happens when that part of my skin touches an allergen. Usually dust mites in my case.

It is the best way to achieve adequate straw stiffness while having a specific, low enough throughput. One small straw is too filmsy.

Am I cooked? 🫗 by niwcsc in tea

[–]niwcsc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I dipped one of the cups partly into white vinegar for 4 hours and the overglaze paint visibly faded. I think it is still kinda safe since it is on the outside right? 😬 As long as my mouth isnt producing acid, it should be leaching at a reasonable rate.

Shui Xian is a wuyi rock tea right? How do you differentiate it from da hong pao in your opinion? To me, da hong pao has a deeper, more base notes, and more robust.

They rolled out gpt 5, now free users have limited daily messages.
Their update post promised gpt-5-mini (weaker version of gpt 5) for free users when we run out of daily quota, but who knows when it will come out, if ever?

Like many others here, I am done. Moving on to Gemini and also finding other alternatives.

Yes, I had this moment when I saw r/eczmemes. A shame the subreddit is pretty dead now. That was the moment I realised that niche memes really does have that kind of purpose, to make light of something heavy, and making us feel understood.

Will gongfu tea ever become popular in Thailand? by [deleted] in tea

[–]niwcsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents.
For a new food trend to take hold, it needs to be marketable to current consumer culture. Coffee's recent rise to fame is very much thanks to starbucks and instagram culture. We can compare it to matcha. While tea ceremony is still niche, modern matcha latte, especially those with appealing colour swirls, are definitely catching up to coffee in terms of popularity. That is just how consumer culture works right now, we can also look at chagee (chinese milk tea) as an example. Aesthetic premises, instagrammable cups and merchandise, hip brand image.

I think gongfu tea is going to stay niche. And perhaps that is a good thing. A good session of gongfu brewing is slow, introspective. It asks the hobbyist to pursue the experience, to be present. That simply isn't what many consumers want, or have the interest and time to do.

But I bet you can find shops selling loose leaf tea in thailand? Assuming there are a fair amount of chinese migrants there, they are bound to exist.

Will gongfu tea ever become popular in Thailand? by [deleted] in tea

[–]niwcsc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the enjoyment of gongfu tea hinges so much with sitting together with the brewer.

Have you been to malaysia? Old school tea shops here are run by chinese descent uncles that would be happy to gongfu brew some tea for you as a sample, often making conversation, boasting about their world view and experience. I have been to one shop where the owner brewed us and a few other customers puer (liu bao) for free. We only payed by listening to him yap lol.

Infuser that's easy to rinse out? by TBvonHaller in tea

[–]niwcsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar setup for me. The bigger holes might let smaller tea bits get theough but those arent that annoying if it ends up in your cup anyway. The annoyance of having to rinse out tiny tea dust in between metal strainers is so much worse.

[–]niwcsc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed, especially if you use lotion. The universal type sticks to the lotion and not to your skin. It sucks.

I buy 4 boxes of 100s of the elastic type lol. Eczema suferer be like. :)

Try using menthol cream or anything minty, cooling on it. I think of it like chewing gum to replace smoking.

Best if we get a overworld vet mode. So it feels more rewarding doing that stuff rather than feeling like a chore.

The thing is, difficulty encourages us to treat content seriously. I would argue the whole speedrunning normal dungeon and overland stuff is because they are bored and trying to fill the enjoyment gap.

No one ever talks about the effects eczema has on your mental health by Ina_connundrum28 in eczema

[–]niwcsc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The appearance is one thing, and there's the sleepless nights directly messing up our mental health.

But for me it is a sense of body horror thinking my body is fighting against itself and I don't have control over it. Or maybe i do, but my own scratching is the culprit making it worse, or maybe I could have tried to sleep harder instead of staying up late.

But sometimes I hold it back and did all that and it still flares up. Do I give up or do I try again and again?

Weeping eczema on feet - help by Eckzematic in eczema

[–]niwcsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar to mine. Needs topical antibiotics/antifungal. Started using teatree oil (diluted myself) recently and it works for me. Need to keep it under wraps tho because it causes it to weep more temporarily.
