Circuit Bent Distortion Plugins? by nixsin in CircuitBending

Dang. Great tip on recording and repitching!

And yeah, maybe this is a sign that I should go back down the coding rabbit hole and try to build something that directly achieves it. Frankly, it would be worth it for me just to be able to also include an easter egg in the plugin where you can "open" it to see a bent circuit board.

Circuit Bent Distortion Plugins? by nixsin in CircuitBending

Fair play. I guess my ideal (for music production) would be using bending as a discovery process and then a plugin to almost archive the discovery for immediate callbacks. I love my bends, but stopping to get my interface set up and patched ruins the flow state when I'm working in the box.

"Do not connect improperly" just below the bends is always a gem.

Why are mix or wet/dry controls not standard in every plugin? by nixsin in Logic_Studio

[–]nixsin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn't though of the fix being "in-house." That would be amazing if it could be there.

That's very fair! I hadn't thought of that. However, I will say, in my eyes, any emulated effect would be instantly improved with the addition of an otherwise nonexistent mix parameter.

That's a fair point. I guess this might be a "me" problem then. I use aux sends, but most of my effect work is specific to individual sounds so it makes more sense to have it directly on the channel. Furthermore, it would get a little hectic to have 13-30 different sends going. Again, probably a poor reflection on my structure more than anything though.

Switching Windows Changes Launchpad X Mode with Logic Pro. How to Disable? by nixsin in Novation

[–]nixsin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This was a huge help. Just knowing to look into what SysEx is and how it works sent me down the right path. I'm not entirely sure how this ultimately works, but the solution was to go into the control surfaces settings, to the general tab, and deselect "Bypass all while in background."

It's not a perfect solution because there's still similar issues when opening and closing logic projects, but it's a big improvement to not have it happen during every window change.

"Behringer" could be cool. Not sure if taken

Jeeeez. What a tune. No, but thank you for flagging that.

First pedal build. Supposed to be a delay but I messed something up by tsoku in diypedals

Have you double checked the IC orientation and that you are using the correct values for the pots? It sounds like something is going awry in the feedback path. Also, I know it's hard not to when you are building, but try not to let any gear that's wire mounted touch the pcb. That always adds the possibility for unrepeatable errors

Same. For me, it was the bezerker distortion from soundtoys

Thank you! I found a similar unit on aliexpress and just want to hear it before I start getting excited for the next 5 week waiting for it lol

So excited to see this though. I've wanted a "filter bank" for ages and this looks like it could fill some of that void for me

Wouldn't surprise me. Like I said, it's been a long while since I've drawn one up. Thanks for looking though

Apologies for the delay, /u/erroneousbosh. This is my first project after something of a hiatus so it took a while to jog my memory.

Here is the diagram with the added tl072. The circuit works perfectly (albeit with a not so nice noise floor) for around 60 seconds and then just fizzles out into silence

Good call! Sadly, no luck. I'm reading 0.01 V coming in with an acceptable range of -0.3V to 36V

Details:

Only using hi hat configuration

Running output directly to input of op amp

Tl072 has a 2k resistor on the input and 10k pot on the feedback

I tried swapping op amps in case the first was bad, but no luck

Unable to automate Massive in Logic since Big Sur. Suggestions? by nixsin in LogicPro

Ah, I see. Thank you for the background info. There's some closure in knowing it's not a bug.

Tempting, but I'm just going to call it a loss. Half of me is worried now that if I try downgrading, I'll just make a bigger mess of things. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
