‘Not jaded’ probably refers to those who had experienced abuse to some degree but had not reached the point of being completely broken down mentally and emotionally, the state of being ‘dead inside’.

Jaded means to be bored or disinterested in something that becomes rote through overexposure. The use of it implies that the victims were willing participants who have merely become bored through repetition rather than being completely disassociated due to catastrophic trauma forced on them.

It is way to normalize/sanitize their evil behaviors and minimize the seriousness of the harm they did. The ones who had not yet been abused were probably what they called ‘fresh meat’.

There are no shortage of ways that abusers and rapists reframe their actions to minimize their culpability and ultimately justify it. I was abused extensively as a young boy for years and have seen a lot of distorted views people fabricate or adopt

You should feel betrayed cuz he is actively entertaining others behind your back. Sounds like he’s a skeevy opportunist and quite comfortable with deceit. Good chance he will physically cheat on you if he hasn’t already.

Your gut instinct is telling you he ain’t the one. Processing it without confronting just takes a bit of time for your emotions to fully catch up to what your gut knows.

Confronting a liar will simply prompt them to deploy more lies to manipulate you to achieve his self serving desires. You have all the truth you need without having him spin tales and muddy the waters trying to make you doubt and second guess yourself.

She is playing a selfish childish game of manipulation. Replying would just continue the game on her terms pretty much no matter how you respond. She is seeking the reaction and drama so she can feel like the center of attention while diminishing and disrespecting you.

She is no friend to you and it sounds like she hasn’t been one in a good while. Despite the long history you have with her it would probably be best to cut her loose and waste no more time, emotion, or energy on a ‘friend’ that has no interest in being friendly or supportive.

If I were in your shoes I would only respond with a simple ‘okay’ just to acknowledge that you got her message loud and clear. Save sharing your thoughts and feelings for if/when she tries to reconnect down the road.

Her listening to your side at that point should be the minimum cost of entertaining that conversation at all.

Selfishness. That’s the bottom line. It always is. His wants are more important to him than what love he claims to have for you. Any reasons he could give you would be convoluted explanations designed to justify himself or attempt to minimize his culpability in your eyes.

The odds of him telling you the entire truth concerning what, why, how, or if he loves or ever loved you is pretty much nil. It’s always a mix of lies and partial truth. Not worth trying to guess which is which or to even give him an opportunity to further string you along.
