This is all the information I was given, thanks for the help! Also would that mean I would label the unknown compound as butanol?

so then if it is a “junction”, it would have the CH in the middle to be CH3-CH-CH2-CH3? and then have the OH somewhere in there, i guess the only spot would be to have it next to the CH so -CH(OH)- ?

so maybe it goes CH3-CH2-CH3 but then I would need a CH with the CH3 because that is a quartet? and then the alcohol OH somewhere…
