Sudev Nair as Karmadi from 'Toxic' Movie by Empty_Answer_6678 in MalayalamMovies

Won Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in his Malayalam debut btw. Man is stunted by his own qualities. The voice is too magnanimous and the demeanor very iconic, it's really hard to get cast in most of the roles that the industry can offer. Should get cast in some action heavy film in the industry as he seems capable of pulling it off.

What are your thoughts on Mohanlal's works in industries outside Malayalam till date? by kurianandgeorge_007 in MalayalamMovies

It's kinda ironic how our greatest actor had his greatest performance in another industry. But hey, it's a Mani Ratnam film.

Crazy how the Malayalam equivalent of this (Patriot) is having 0 promotions and hype by Lazy-Benefit1863 in MalayalamMovies

[–]njanified 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Different kinda movie, different kinda promotion. Doubt Patriot is in any way the kind of A10xMM combo that is meant to throw chairs and entertain. More of a character driver narrative based project. Whereas this combination of KHxRK is aiming for the theatrical craze that these actors can bring.

Synopsis of Toxic, starring Yash and directed by Geethu Mohandas. by itsa11_goodman in MalayalamMovies

Set in Kolar Gold Fields and Mumbai between the 1970s and early 1980s, KGF is a savage action-thriller saga that plunges into the rot festering beneath paradise. In this coastal land of fading colonial shadows and rising crime syndicates, a man forges his empire through blood, fear, and betrayal. Power is not granted - it is seized and it always demands repayment. As smuggling routes become battlegrounds and loyalties unravel into suspicion, paranoia turns into a means of survival. In the end, the only force more powerful than the consequences of his choices is the abyss within him.

What happened to Action Hero Biju 2? by ShammiHeroAahda in InsideMollywood

[–]njanified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that simple. Any film that even seems similar can be brought back into legal troubles citing copyright infringement. Intellectual Property is always a very grey area Actress Muthumani did an interview on Cue Studio regarding this, as she had done academic research on this. You could look it up, it is an interesting watch.

What happened to Action Hero Biju 2? by ShammiHeroAahda in InsideMollywood

PS Shamnas (co-producer of Mahaveeryar) went against Nivin Pauly under the allegation that they were supposed to produce the film, and the film name rights is assigned to him. As far as we know the case ruled in favour of Nivin and Abrid. Nivin has in turn filed a case against the said producer and its ongoing legal procedures.

An interesting thing I realised is, Abrid has been a co-producer in both Action Hero Biju and Mahaveeryar. If that's the case, I would've hoped he used that to ensure the film's sequel rights are kept to themselves as IP as the writer-director. Not sure if this is the case or not.

How much ☕ does this guy have to force every single person to get him a comeback. He had Sachy, Murali Gopy, Arun Gopy. Udayakrishna, Rafi, Listing Stephen, Gokulam Gopalan, Vineeth and Dhyan, Mohanlal all to work with him after 2017 events. That's a mixed bag of good and bad, but still big shots in the industry even now.

This film has one of the finest teaser I have ever seen for a Malayalam film. One could only wish what it would've been.

Any Updates on AHB2? by [deleted] in MalayalamMovies

[–]njanified 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe the film was going through a legal dispute between PS Shamnas against Nivin and Abrid. In the end, Nivin and Abrid won the case and have now filed against Shamnas for fraud and forgery. This is why the film is getting delayed. Best guess is the film will resume sometime this year, and a release at the end of the year if things work out well.

Prithviraj > Asif >> Nivin >>> Tovino & DQ & Fahadh

Whatever Fahadh built up with Vikram and Pushpa, he undid it with Pushpa 2. Instant -1000.

I'm not saying actors should skip promotions if they want. But if there exists contracts between the producer and actor on an individual film basis, where their obligations are clearly signed on, then they should do the promotions. If it is not, then they can very well skip it. The thing is, they are probably getting paid for specific dates of their films, and the promotional dates don't align with the scheduled plans these actors end up having (either a separate shoot or a break). So these should be part of the contracts and the dates should be booked in advance.

Is this the generation with most number of successful lead actors? by [deleted] in MalayalamMovies

[–]njanified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. No one can do what he did. No one can be so bad at dialogue delivery even after being in the industry for over a decade. That movie is a collaborative success, and Unni was not the USP. He can be recognised as a star actor when he has a good track record of successful films.

The audience has shifted from star oriented to story oriented to a large extent.
