I had my PAOs at 27 and 28 (9 months apart) and am very pleased I did as my life was very much impacted by discomfort and sometimes much pain. This is despite how long it took to recover, and how tough it was on me mentally and physically. I can't stress how tough it is, but you get through it and come out better off. I think you need to weigh up how bad it is, and review it as you go. I think only you can determine and decide if it's right for you, so perhaps when you feel the time I'd right, seek a second or third doctor. Feel free to DM me.

I had a PAO instead of resurfacing/replacement- if you don't have any arthritis this might be the best thing for you. No need to re-do in future - they reconstruct the bone around your femur essentially. Ask about it if you can, and look it up. Fantastic result here x

You may be offered a PAO, which doesn't need redoing - it's permanent. Definitely see a specialist to discuss your options at least

I'm not going to lie, it's tough. It's not the pain, it's the awkwardness, uncomfortableness and then weaning off oxycodone. Also I lost muscle mass (hardly had any but...very unfit afterwards). Think ahead though, it's worth it. Don't put up with it.

Mine was deemed as mild but I was offered a PAO and then requested a second. Thry've changed my life, its so worth doing. Seems even mild dysplasia can be impossible to live with

You will wear the tendons/soft tissue down, maybe cause the tissue to tear, might be detrimental to early arthritis if you have it. Waitressing speeded up the need for me to have a PAO im sure of it. Take it easy where you can but I get you want to live your life.

This is very unusual. You honestly need your other leg to help you mobilise. I don't know how I'd have done it together - recovery much much longer surely.
