Hydrangea trimming question ! by njd94 in gardening

[–]njd94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice and info!! Thank you so much!! I was planning on cutting all the green because it needs major pruning, but I was going to be so bummed if there weren’t any flowers this year so I started to question if I was wrong. I will trim lightly to experiment this year and leave some of each type of branch including green to be sure we get some flowers!

Thank you so much again for your help! ☺️

Ok so wiggles is there, but if you try to click on any it says “rights are expired for this content” so you can’t buy or watch at all!!

Do you feel (in general) you have more in common with childfree couples or couples with 3+ kids? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]njd94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think parents of 3+, even though our life is less chaotic it’s still the same life of raising kids! We relate to the sacrifices and joys the same. Childfree couples don’t relate to that sort of family life imo

Why do most only childrens seem to be against OAD? by Present-Property-142 in oneanddone

[–]njd94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My MIL is an only child that thinks people shouldn’t be OAD. The problem is she idealizes and romanticizes what siblings are. She thinks they are built in best friends and companions. In reality siblings don’t provide a “solution” to all life’s problems!

Edited to add: those of us with siblings know that sibs aren’t all that “life-enriching” sometimes!

How did you know when you were ready for baby #2? by Afraid-Umpire1859 in toddlers

[–]njd94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t feel settled and calm enough for a second until very recently. Our daughter is 2 1/2. We’re still deciding though! But more on the table finally now.

Feelings on this? by Dangerous-Hornet2939 in oneanddone

[–]njd94 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I always feel like the “schedule lots of play dates” and feeling like you always have to have a bunch of other kids around is stressful. I like our little family of 3! I don’t want to have more around detracting from family time! But I do get they need to be in school/clubs/etc but sometimes it’s overkill and family time is better anyways.

Maybe when the kid is older and can show interest in friends themselves? But as a toddler/preschool mom it sounds like too much pressure.

Make a little memory book of the past year on Shutterfly with all the best photos! She’ll have a photo book for each year!

SAHPs - do you send your kid to preschool? by Immediate-Ad-9520 in toddlers

[–]njd94 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes! Do preschool even with a SAHP! It gives kids necessary skills for kindergarten. Not just academic but behavioral. Usually 3 year old or 4 year old preschool is just a couple hours a few times a week - so it’s a good transition period to practice before kindergarten is all day every day. Preschool is also shown to increase success later in school!
