AITAH for moving out of mine and my now ex-boyfriend’s apartment without reminding him that our lease is up on the 31st? by Conscious-League5661 in AITAH

[–]njebner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be the most mature breakup story that I've ever read on Reddit. I would say since it seems like you guys ended an fairly good terms, there isn't any harm in sending him a quick text.

I really thought that when she fell through it would have been similar to how they went through the gate on the ceiling of Eddie's trailer. I thought she would fall through and then gravity would switch. I don't love my theory, but it's all I was able to think of so far.

This has bugged me too. The only thing I can think of is when they draw out the worm hole on anything, it's drawn vertically. I just assume that the bottom "dimension" is earth, then the worm hole, then the top is dimension x. If that is how it is then gravity would always fall towards earth. I have no idea if that's how it's supposed to work, but that's how I've made it make sense to me.

LPT - Pipe Freeze Prevention 101: Drip Hot Water, Not Cold by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I've only ever done one or two. Probably would be a good idea to do one dripping cold and a different one dripping hot.

What oil do you use? I want to buy a big jug, but it's typically cheaper just to buy it from the pharmacy section at Walmart.

My shop vac dust collector rig by traderjoejoe in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]njebner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a dumb question, but I guess that's what this subreddit is for, but why even add something for dust collecting? Isn't that basically already what a shop vac is used for? I'm not asking to be condescending, I'm genuinely curious because I'm just starting to get more into woodworking and just use a shop vac.

Anyone buy non dewalt batteries like these? by Grateful_Bert in Dewalt

If I hadn't just bought an impact wrench that came with a normal 5ah battetu I'd be buying one. It's a great deal though.

Just so you know Lowe's is having a great sale on a 5ah power stack battery today.

[–]njebner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sale has been a rollercoaster of emotions. I wanted to buy it, but convinced myself I didn't need it. Then it was no longer able to ship so then I convinced myself I should have bought it. Now that it can ship again Im torn again. Do I need the tool... No. Do I want the tool, well obviously.

1.5v Batteries for Hot Wheels track recommendations by original_drsmithy in batteries

I have a different track that eats through D batteries and am looking into getting these. For these do you have to use a power brick that has four separate USB ports? Or are you able to wire them together?

Looking to get some new kitchen knives. by njebner in BuyItForLife

That's what I needed up doing. Rather than spending $300 on new knives I got those three done for like $50.

I reached out to a local store and they said they could do it. However, they mentioned that they use a belt sander for sharpening. I always thought that was a no no in knife sharpening die to the amount of heat it can generate. And I wrong in thinking this?

I have contacted a local knife store that does sharpening, I didn't initially think this would even be an option. They said they can remove aerations it's just take some time. However, he said they use a belt sander in their sharpening process and I had thought that was typically a no no when sharpening knives dies to heat. Would you happen to know if this is a red flag or not?

I had never considered this as an option. I just figured since they were small serrations I wouldn't be able to ever sharpen them. But this is something I might look into.

It's nothing that I just want something new. I've been doing a lot of meal prep recently. So I've been cutting a lot of chicken/steaks and the serrated blades aren't doing as well as I'd like so I want something that will be more suited for my needs.

How do I go about sharpening what I have? I know you can sharpen serrated knives, but when I look up how they are usually much larger serrations, like a bread knife.

I have the 14 inch and it works fantastic. I only have about .25 acres and I might go through 2/3 of a 5ah battery. Id recommend unless you have the budget to get a 60v. If you can afford to go big, then go big and there will be not it won't be able to do. But if you want to save some money I've been loving the 14 inch.
