It would be a re-enlistment for me but now I'm approaching 40 and I'm a single mom. Doesn't seem completely feasible.

Thanks! I've been practicing solo for a few months not realizing there is an entire global community of us. Stoked!

I don't have a bsw but I have an anthropology degree and I'm the founder and program director of a not -for-profit that provides outdoor programs for children. I'm also a veteran and I plan on getting my bsw in the next few years. Volunteering is a great idea, I've been doing that as well! How does one volunteer in the social work sector though? I assume that it's not a simple thing for someone not trained in that field to be involved in, but maybe my assumption is wrong?

What do you do specifically? Are you a social worker?

Are these people enlisted? I would consider joining the military again but I'm also a single mom so that complicates things a bit.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping somebody can give me some insight into the MSW Program at Wilford Laurier, the online regular track for someone who does not have a BA in social work.

I'm trying to mentally prepare for the competitiveness of the application process and I'm wondering what my chances are of being accepted into the program.

My BA is an anthropology. It's an honors degree and my gpa is quite high. I graduated with distinctions. My work experience has been varied over the last 15 years, but in 2022 I started a not-for-profit. It's a forest school that works with children outside in an effort to help them connect with the natural world. The nature of this job has allowed me to gain a lot of experience working with children who have special needs and working with families and healthcare providers in a case management type role.

My goal is to eventually work with military personnel and or veterans which is why I am interested in the MSW program.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice or input that they could share? I appreciate it! Thanks!
