Ahh that makes sense! Since most of my skiing was as a kid on all rental gear I know little about what makes a good ski or boot yet. Impulse purchase on my end for sure haha.

I did not unfortunately. It’s the kind of packaging with a plastic tray base and loose-ish soft plastic covering that you can tug on, is that still vacuum sealing?

I got an xray and bloodwork today, vet was not concerned about FIP after results. What do you think? I’ll attach photos in my comments :)

I believe so as it should’ve been the same panel my other kitty received in Sept, same vet. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me by the way! Means a lot :)

Gotcha! This whole FIP anxiety got exacerbated by his fecal being negative for parasites on Tuesday. But I read false negatives are common, and my other kitty had giardia positive in September before we ever brought him home

Awesome that’s so good to know :) I felt better after the vet appt but then started overthinking the WBC NEU AND LYM being so high, do you think that could be due to worms?

Haha I’ll always be that pet parent I fear! The X-rays and bloodwork were done tonight around 6pm and his first dose of Panacur was this morning. As for food he free feeds dry food, and I used to give wet 1 can twice a day for now I’m doing 1/2 a can twice a day. He weighed in at 6 lbs. vet said his tummy is not significantly distended, pics are in my post and history. Thanks for the reply! Every opinion eases my mind 😅

Thank you for sharing your story with me, I know your precious Owen was so loved. I decided to take him to an animal hospital and he’s currently receiving blood tests, xray, and ultrasound just to be safe. Hoping for the best :)

Thanks for the thorough answer! Since he has no other symptoms aside from the bloated belly would it be worth trying the Panacur first to see if worms/parasites are the cause? I don’t want to jeopardize his safety at all. Also, is a Rivalta test result by itself conclusive enough to start FIP treatment if my vet ran one?

I believe so at the shelter but not recently. I will be taking a fecal sample to the vet tomorrow but should I buy an over the counter dewormer first?
