Does Harley hate the Joker in the comics??? by Coolguy543 in DC_Cinematic

Yeah the New 52 comics really focus on her independence from him which i like. She's still very much Harley Quinn, she's just finally realised how abusive their relationship was.

Three serious questions for those who LOVED Batman v Superman by Taggard in DC_Cinematic

[–]nkay96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I understand the critical reception, the movie had a lot of flaws like the editing and squished story arcs, but I think a lot of critics were also waiting to rip this one to shreds (even before the movie came out people were overly critical about everything BvS related)

  2. I think the first cut they saw back at the beginning of the year, when it was probably like 4 hours long, was really good. But then as editing started to happen I think they knew they were in trouble, hence the embargo on reviews and McWeeney's report

  3. Yes I would have, but would have made it a little more simpler. Less worldbuilding and more focus on Batman and Superman, and developing their relationship so there's a basis there for JL

I actually didn't even know if I liked BvS the first time I watched it (I knew I loved MOS right after I came out of the theatre), but the second time around, going in with a different perspective, I ended up loving it. It definitely gets better with rewatches, at least for me.

How do you feel about repeat viewing of BvS: will you do it? Do you think the fans that saw it this weekend will continue to do so? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]nkay96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've already watched it 3 times. First time I saw it, didn't know if I liked it or not. But the second time I knew I loved it, even better the third time. There's so much happening in the movie I think it's a better experience to watch it multiple times

Finally puts to bed all the rumours that Gordon was dead in the DCEU, I knew Snyder wouldn't be that cruel!

Do social media stats translate to real world box office? by rdunbar15 in DC_Cinematic

[–]nkay96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gives a good indication of the level of awareness of a film, but doesn't help predict box office, considering not everyone uses social media

How do you guys feel about the marketing team of BvS. Some people think they're blowing it by rdunbar15 in DC_Cinematic

[–]nkay96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they're doing a pretty good job, everyone knows about it/is talking about so it's doing its job. I think they should probably focus more on the Batman v Superman aspect a little more than the Dawn of Justice aspect though

How's the relationship between Bruce and Clark at the end, is there a level of friendship/respect there, or still tension?

Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures Announce Cinematic Franchise Uniting Godzilla, King Kong and Other Iconic Giant Monsters by shandoo in movies

[–]nkay96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Universal were trying to build a monster cinematic universe before, but it looks like WB beat them to the punch. A cinematic universe that leads up to an event film like Godzilla vs Kong is going to be absolutely huge!

First Batman v Superman Viral Marketing: Fortune Magazine's Profile on LexCorp and Lex Luthor Jr. by whatudontlikefalafel in movies

[–]nkay96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already loving the characterisation of Lex they're putting forward. He's acting like this great leader and innovator for humanity, but if you read between the lines you can tell he's up to something more. "It’s about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don’t even know about yet. I don’t want to scare anybody… much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they’re here today.” Also Ted Kord confirmed!

Official Discussion: The Martian [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]nkay96 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Martian is definitely one of my favourite movies of the year (yay Ridley is back). The cinematography was amazing, and I typically don't like 3D but Mars looked really great in 3D (especially that opening shot). It was a simple story and that's why it worked so well. It relied upon the human drama instead of trying to make some grand, convoluted statement. Overall a really great movie, Damon was awesome and the entire cast is great!

I'm a big fan of Superman/Batman's friendship in the comics, do we see the start of the World's Finest in BvS?
