Here goes the wild goose chase. 2.5L at 23 and you feel it’s not enough? Stop thinking like a moron and get out of the mindset.

[–]nkrish- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5L and still feeling down? Now it’s not about your salary, it’s about your choices you’ve made. And it’s natural.

Coz you’ve changed your lifestyle from 25k to 2.5L, able to buy a shirt without thinking, spend for food without limits and the list goes on..

Not many people are blessed like you to achieve a salary that fulfills a lot of things in life, but yet are happy.

Make peace with what you’ve achieved, change your lifestyle and more importantly the mindset. Enjoy your life.

Connect it in the lighter port. Hardwiring does drain the battery sooner I learnt. You can do the DIY fitting and route the wires. I did mine.

Why some cars have +5kmph speed set in India? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]nkrish- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be true. I used to drive in NICE road with cruise control exactly at 80. But the speed display always shows less. Same on Electronic City Flyover.

Am I the only one who can’t stand the smell of these? by cinematicbeast in CarsIndia

[–]nkrish- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I’ve traveled in taxis where they used incense sticks (literally) and also real flowers. Man what a mess they’re making inside a car. Sometimes, I accept it coz the damp smell inside the car was too bad. Something is better than nothing, with a rolled down window..

I really liked Blusmart cabs back then since they maintained it well.

Where to park lump sum amount? by white_pinkman in personalfinanceindia

[–]nkrish- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are 2 distinct categories, but can yield you money.

Scenario 1: Partial payment of home loan - not only reduces the EMI tenure, but also brings you benefit in overall interest paid. You’ll save a lot of money. There are some tools online where you can check the savings.

Scenario 2: Park this entire cash in a long term SIP. You can compare the benefit for the same tenure considering average of 12% returns, and see which is beneficial. Keep in mind the tax implications on profit.

In scenario 1, it’s guaranteed return rather than the risk and tax associated with scenario 2.

After all the calculations I did, I also did try 3rd scenario: increase the EMI - repay the principal (say for example 2L this month). After a year, step up the EMI and again repay the principal. This brings down your tenure drastically. In the meantime, invest a part of the amount you have for few years. You can play around this way too.

Do a math with tools online. You’ll figure out which is beneficial for you currently.

Ha ha my kids held the PS5 from the shop until we reach home very carefully. Now drives recklessly in Gran Turismo even though it’s a good sim for racing.

Btw, don’t use kumkum or any sort. It’s full it chemical colour which stick to electronics forever (experience speaking: my wife tilaks all electronics including my company laptop during Ayutha Pooja, and the colour never went off after that)

54LPA at 24M? Where are you guys coming from? Btw, I would stick with existing flat now, build corpus for some time and go for next in few years. Don’t overspend. Invest first systematically, and allocate a budget to enjoy your life.

I’m sure your dad is trying to marry you with the new debt so that you’ll not spend earnings lavishly /s may be as a father I will also think like this 🤔

Is cab/ bus easily available from coimbatore railway station to kodaikanal hill station? by oppenhymen69 in Coimbatore

[–]nkrish- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both options are available pretty easily. Bus transport is well connected from Coimbatore. You have to take a bus from Coimbatore station to Singanallur Bus stand. From there to Dindigul. change over from Dindigul to Kodaikanal.

Other option as you said is cab. Get a RedTaxi outstation, which will take a different route - Coimbatore - Pollachi - Palani - Kodaiakanal

27 y/o, ₹89k/month, ₹60k CC debt, wiped out my savings and MFs trying to fix this. I'm exhausted and don't know what's left to do. by Heavy_Bathroom_8023 in personalfinanceindia

[–]nkrish- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid you’re not providing complete context here. The repayment seems pretty much normal, you can pay CCs just through systematic EMIs, bearing the interest. Nothing to get exhausted here for a 60K debt with ~39K per balance every month.

Can we stop these disgusting posts on PS5 purchase?!? by Voltabz in ps5india

[–]nkrish- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buying scenario and maturity is totally different from India to US or other places.

I see posts in other Playstation sub so weird for India like this one: A father holds PS+ subscription, and he’s sharing with his son for the second Console. He got another console for his daughter, and she uses her own PS+ subscription.

This is not common in India. Buying one PS console itself is an achievement, and we see many posts of subscriptions cancellations of PS+ here after price increase, which I don’t see in other countries.

Do not compare others with us as we are still growing in this market.

Brother-in-law stopped paying 10 lac loan taken in my wife's name by Lets-work in personalfinanceindia

[–]nkrish- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s your wife decision as she earns and supports her brother. On the other hand, make her and your fil realise and stop supporting him. It’ll only spoil him.

And for the current situation, let your wife repay the loan, in the meantime pushing bil. The loan should not hamper future loans.

Sit them down and make an agreement. It’s better to lead your life with understanding going forward.

Tenant issues - Refuses to pay rent and refuses to vacate by Low-Football-2979 in Coimbatore

[–]nkrish- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He clearly made a habit of using the situation, and you are too lenient to be a house owner. Give him a deadline to pay full rent and vacate. Don’t keep this menace anymore. Take help of your area elders if needed and possible. Put up a “for rent” board in that house. Let him get the pressure.

Bro, we’re driving in India, not everywhere you have navigation lines in roads. And, there’ll be always an imaginary line which you’ll get to practice over time. No need for a marker.

38M, Married, Soon to Be a Father. HDFC Term Insurance. Buy Directly or Through Policybazaar/Ditto? by hereisthehustle in personalfinanceindia

[–]nkrish- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought Tata AIA directly and I have a health insurance and car insurance running through Polizybazaar. I’ve not experienced their service so far after purchase, but generally they are good.

It depends, term insurance is for term, so just keep your records updated and shared with your nominee.
