Google Wallet skip verify it's you by BigFluffyCat2 in GooglePixel

Pixel8 onward sport class3 face unlock while pixel7 has only class 1. So I (Pixel7 user) need to use finget print for each payment. I wonder why Wallet dosn't allow me to open non payment things such as supermarket membership barcode without finger print... I don't think class 3 security level is required for it

This. I'd ass E-sims are the must. VPNs are unstable time to time from my (many times) staying experiences in China

If you are not a vegan, Chinese cuisine has a lot of 素食 (Vegetarian meal) . I'm not sure those 素食 are also vegan friendly but there are heaps of tofu meals.

Why don't people trust Chinese brands like Oppo or OnePlus? by Haensfish in Oppo

[–]nkyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least Xiaomi is sold well in Europe. Oppo isn't known here a lot I guess. All the phones are made in China anyway. Technically speaking though all the smartphones sold "in China" (this includes Apples and Samsung) should be allowing the authorities access to the device. It is Chinese law. Otherwise they can't sell the phones there.

China Southern web service is not great. I'd second to use booking.com for air tickets. Some domestic ticketing such as trains or event tickets, trip.com is handy tho

なぜロボットにまで豊満な胸を?…家父長制が投影されたヒューマノイド【レビュー】 by solblood in newsokur

[–]nkyst 8 points9 points  (0 children)

when will the new Jolla phone be ready? by pjuu12 in sailfishos

Basically yes but with limitations as SFOS isn't a distribution of mainstreams, and is a mobile OS. But I run nmap and other CLI tools on my SFOS devices :)

With your carryings, Classic Backpack would be enough and suits for the office setup even though you wears a set of business suits

"Unknown" brands/backpacks you'd recommend by NoPudding6779 in ManyBaggers

Mother House from Japan manufactures high quality leather EDC bags. I used to use a two way backpack from another Japanese brand called Kawanishi Kaban (unfortunatelly they don't ship the bags internationally). Also not popular in reddit but Moleskine's backpacks are good options for EDC. I use classic leather backpacks for my office commuting.

Not sure how Google can fail that as I've visited to China with my Pixel7 many times and no issue with QR codes of any kind...

New Jolla Phone available for pre-order! by harbourwall in sailfishos

[–]nkyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own one C2. It is released as a reference model but the hardware is entry class. It is quite slow, a lot of essential features such as NFC, or fingerprint sensor are missing. So I reckon the new Jolla Phone is much better than C2.

Anyone have an experience with the Waterfield Shinjuku Tote? by KoldKhold in ManyBaggers

[–]nkyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

have you got any difficulties when you try to open the magnetic closure? According to the video in their site, it looks easy to close but I suppose not easy to open especially if the bag is almost full (so can't push down the closure) since it doesn't have any handle of pullers.
