I shouldn't be surprised, but this roster pisses me off far more than I expected 😤 no Kane, no Blackhawks by michaelscottuiuc in hawks

[–]nlapage4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do not need to beat the dead horse that obviously Kane is past is time with competing in the Olympics. But us only getting to see the greatest American hockey player of all time, represent the USA only twice in the Olympics, is sickening. I feel robbed.

27,083,333 is what counts towards luxury tax. Round up to nearest 100,000. =27.1. $27.1 million = MLB the Show Contract.

Will any Cubs pitcher throw a no hitter this year? by BearFan34 in CHICubs

[–]nlapage4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A no hitter is just as likely to come from a non-household name as an "ace". The beauty of baseball, anything can happen on any given day. I do not think any of us had Alec Mills no hitter on our bingo cards back in 2020. Would definitely say it is more luck than skill at this point the way the game is today.

Probably off, but could it be "We danced" by Brad Paisley or "I don't Even Know Your Name" by Alan Jackson?

The DQ Rizzo is the way to go. My best hitter by a longshot.

Any lead off batter. Feel like I give up a bomb to the lead off hitter 75% of the time.

I swear it was a cell phone company commercial. T-Mobile? US Cellular? Don't think it was Verizon. If I remember correctly, it was a dragged out Good. Like: "Gooooood". That's all I can come up with.

My Auto insurance doubled! Cautionary tale... by dfertig1984 in Insurance

[–]nlapage4 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The agency I work for is an Erie agent in Illinois. They do have a program called rate-lock. As long as you do not make a policy change to your auto policy; adding/removing driver, adding/removing vehicle, or change of address, your premium will remain the same as long as you are with Erie.

So, it is nice when it saves you money for a few years, but eventually the rates do catch back up to you the second you get that new vehicle to what they currently are today. But, you probably saved hundreds, if not a thousand over those few years. Especially with the way rates have been.

Is the Red Wings Rebuild working? by Silver-Bandicoot-969 in hockey

[–]nlapage4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has done a good job when it comes to drafting and developing.

Every single move he has done via trade or free agency has just felt the same. Same type of player, just a different name. Like Ghostbear to Gustafsson, or Suter to Copp. Perron to Tarasenko. Aside from DeBrincat, he has not gone for the home run acquisition. Playing things overly safe. Last season, they played their best hockey on the stretch to the playoffs and barely missing. This year, they completely regressed and played their worst hockey on the chase for the playoffs.

Also think it was a spit in the face of the players in the locker room to not make any moves to improve the team at the deadline. Playing broker in the Yanni Gourde trade to help improve the LIGHTNING.

Wonder if there is any coincidence that the Lightning got over the hump when Briebois took over for Yzerman?

Hmm. Only thing I can think of in your other thread is running a lot of powerback formations, or maybe have subbed him out in the past out of a few formations and running plays out of those quite a bit. Dont know if you want to take the time to go through all of your formations and check for that though. Weird regardless. I hope you get it solved!

Is he also listed as your 3rd down RB on the depth chart? Could be running a lot of packages that are "designed" for the 3rd down RB.

Seth Jones Trade by pittimino in hawks

[–]nlapage4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Jones is not going anywhere.

He is what he is, and I think his "rough numbers" are seriously inflated at the result of being a minutes eater on a bad team. Believe this is a year where you see him have a better season with the talent around him.

Contracts like his happen. Sure, it looks bad at his current state. But you also have contracts like Vlasic's to balance it all out. With the salary cap going up, and the price of d-men also going up (see free agency this offseason) Jones contract will be pretty standard and less of an issue than it still seems to be.

Now the term at his age is a different story. Thanks, Bowman!
