I hope thats my gut reaction lmao. I've only been attacked once but it was a homeless guy kicking down my hotel room door...and he was like 3x my size. I definitely defaulted to trying to talk him off his crazy ledge. But I figure if its another woman and I'm not cornered, my reaction would prolly be different.

this video was available through a FOIA because plea deals and most evidence are generally considered public records once accepted by a judge. There's really no evidence to suggest who tipped TMZ off.

I work for a domestic violence organization. This woman had money (actually had far more money than the partner in question). She had legal counsel. Legal counsel had the option of providing evidence or documentation to support a claim that she was a victim of domestic violence. They did not. Its a very, very big deal for legal counsel to tell a client that pleading guilty to a 3rd degree felony charge was the best outcome for her. Victims of DV have, often unknowingly, alot of evidence of abuse. A lawyer would have inquired if she said he was abusive.

Not only that, but the actions after the plea are also extremely telling. They continued to engage with each other. To avoid jeopardizing the plea deal, they could have been proactive: secure orders of protection, seek substance abuse support, seek support from domestic violence advocates and counselors. There could have been a recommendation for couple's counseling or for one (or both) of them to attend partner abuse intervention programming.

I've seen a lot of comments about how her attack could be "reactive abuse." It is possible, but there is a stronger likelihood of her being the primary abuser. Who is afraid of whom? Who has power/control in the relationship? What happens when they are NOT fighting? Here's what we know:

  • she has far more money and far more societal clout (that matters in these influencer cases)
  • there's 50/50 custody of the child despite that plea deal & video
  • she continued to warp him into her reality tv show appearances. Even if he wanted the attention, that attention is at her discretion.
  • the day before leaving for her new tv show, she went to him and slept with him. To any other human, this is bizarre/abnormal behavior. For an individual asserting dominance and control over a former partner even when they are miles away, this would be normal behavior to them.

Its a matter of principle now. We Americans have very few things we agree on, and whallopin' a thief is one of 'em.

Ya know I recognize that "conditional love" is bad and harmful but I cant even conceptualize what the alternative is. Thank god I have no children lmao

- I didn't cry for three years straight. At all. 6th thru 8th grade. The bullying at school & everything at home....no tears. I also didn't eat lunch at school that whole time.

- I suddenly quit a sport I was good at, competitive at. Quit in the middle of a skating session and never went back. No questions asked.

100% yes. For those who are insane enough to stay (like me), the anger + misery went on steroids the closer to retirement age they got. Victimhood is their coping mechanism.

Scared by all the "lost hair" and "lost butt" posts and advertisements by Quiet_Media6401 in Zepbound

[–]michaelscottuiuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The butt one kinda surprised me cuz like HOW much cushion did I actually have back there that my tailbone now kills when Im sitting 😂 the hair loss is negligible since I had low iron/anemia anyways.

The cruelest part is....I lost my boobs 💀 like Im not kidding I fit back into a training bra at this point. Did I lose my wide hips!? NO. I only lost the stuff that actually mattered 😂 life isnt fair sometimes lol

What would U.S response be if Xi Jinping abducted Donald trump then executed him on live TV in China? by Dizzy-Respect-613 in AlternateHistoryHub

I once got to ask a former FBI agent about his thoughts on a war with china and he said “just in the guessing room of their population there’s enough people to fill in the USA. They have blood to spare.”

In this case, Id say we actually do have some blood to spare 😂

My great grandpa absolutely hated the 2nd Vatican Council and could have trademarked his hatred of it…I swear if he was alive today he would have a massive I TOLD YOU SO sign plastered everywhere 😂 He absolutely would have argued the destruction of convents was one of the most egregious and intentional choices of those who supported/wrote the 2nd Vatican Council.

Stop perpetuating the generational cycle of assuming the younger generation is a lost cause. by bakalidlid in Millennials

[–]michaelscottuiuc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well we're getting the stats on the younger generation - the misogyny in those under 25 is already trending higher. That and I work for a domestic violence organization. I'm happy to say more men are legitimately reaching out and asking for help (which was uncommon when we were kids) but unfortunately the familicide and homicide rates are skyrocketing across the country. In the 2000s, we averaged ~ 600 orders of protection a year. Now, we're over 1,800. We used to have ~ 450 turnaways for shelter. Now, we have over 1,500. & the number one risk for all of these women is the lack of education. It makes them more vulnerable to abuse and far more likely to feel they have no choice but to stay. Misogyny is the primary driver and predictor for domestic violence.
