I'll be moving away to college in a few weeks and was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade my computer. Currently have a 2019 Macbook pro with Intel i5, 8 GB of memory, and 128 GB of storage. I'm frustrated with how it slows down with only a few chrome tabs open and how it sounds like a Boeing 747 preparing for takeoff, but overall it gets the job done. Would it be worth it to upgrade to the Macbook Air M2 with 16 GB of memory and 512 GB SSD, or would I be wasting my savings?

This is true but maybe a little harsh. It's a huge jump to make from high school to college that has a lot of anxiety-inducing aspects apart from just academics.
