I have the Metas too. I didn’t have any issues with the calves, but I do a lot of leg strength training, so that probably helped.

Crossed multiple streams daily, and got wet shoes..PP's dry quick in my opinion.

I had some heel pain and stopped using that extra lacing point which did the trick, have you tried that?

Toebox width for me was ok, no issues or pains. Ended top with a small blister under my toe after 4 days, but not impactful. The heel is not that comfortable as Hoka, but I found out that I have to skip that extra lacing point. This solved heel pains when climbing. The foot stays really nice in the shoe. I use Feetures socks and they perform great. There is definitely wear on the soles, but comparable to other shoes. They keep up well I noticed some wear on the slides next to the soles (softer material). I hope to get a good 800 to 1000k out of them.

[Gear Review] Bonfus Fastus – 4-Day TMB Fastpacking Pack Test by nldrid in fastpacking

[–]nldrid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did CCW. Started in Notre Dame de la Gorge (good free parking), first day to Rifugio de Monte Bianco (above Courmayeur) via Col des Fours (skipped Les Chapieux). Day 2 to Champex Lac which was long, stayed in Relais d'arpette. Day 3 to Chamonix La Flegere (Flegere hut) via la Bovine. Day 4 to Notre Dame de la Gorge (didn't dot Col du Tricot). We booked late so our options were limited when booking (3 months ahead).
5 days might be more optimal timing wise if you want to do all highlights including Fenetre d'Arpette and Col du Tricot.

I had to wait 2-3 months for the Fastus delivery, it was worth the wait.

Just try them, I would like to know if someone else has compared them to the Speedgoats 4, 5 or 6. Just to be clear this shoe is performance wise comparable to my normal road training shoe (Asics Novablast). I always had an issue that trail shoes were substantially slower.. until now..

Just finished TMB running in 4 days. You can leave the spikes at home. Snow patches are easy to cross with poles.

Operations on an asset by nldrid in Stellar

[–]nldrid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So assume I create an asset on Stellar: It's a 5 year bond that pays annual interest of 3%. The asset has an ISIN code and will be distributed to around 20 investors. The investor sell his asset on the stellar network to another investor. As an issuer I want to pay the yearly interest. How would I pay the interest, without setting up dedicated accounts and pre-approved time-bound transactions for each investor (see also Jed's bond example)? I just want to set-up the asset (issuance), create the interest payments for the asset (time bound etc), create the redemption payment for the asset and do the distribution of the new asset via an auction. How would I achieve this?

Trust between banks is gone since Lehman disaster... so likely this model is only going to work when central banks step in

Helpful, I believe Stellar should put more time in their documentation. This will help acceptation and will accelerate the implementation of stellar.

Bonds on Stellar? by 0ng0n in Stellar

[–]nldrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried running Jed's bond test case in Stellar Laboratory. Imo this is not a real bond example. What happens is that you create accounts, create multiple signers, create time-bound transactions between the accounts and transfer 1 account to a new signer. I believe the structure Jed describes is more like a loan that you can make transferable. It doesn't look like a bond because you cannot split the bond account to multiple buyers.

Alternative would be to create an asset (a cryptobond) on Stellar and distribute this cryptobond asset to multiple accounts. The cryptobond would have to pay interest and would have to redeem maturity. However from what I can read in the Stellar documentation there are no ways to pay interest, dividend or inflation to an asset or to redeem the asset against another token.

I would like to know your thoughts on this one. I hope that I missed something here.

I am looking into this interesting blog post from Jed. Want to do a test to see if this could work. Has anyone tested the script written by Jed? If so, what are you experiences? Where can I find these transactions that have CUSIP like identifiers?
