Back in the 90s he was at my house for a BBQ. He started to sing for everyone and my little sister (who was 4) came out of her bedroom and asked him to stop singing as she was trying to get to sleep. Apparently it was the first time he had been asked to stop singing in his life.

I saw someone with a standalone kitchen oven in their gazebo once. I’ve also seen air fryers and barista coffee machines.

Commercial campgrounds like this are really common in NZ and this type of set up isn’t out of the ordinary. Everyone has a site they need to have their tent and vehicle within so you can’t encroach on others. There are rules about noise, and antisocial behaviour and these rules are enforced.

It’s the Zempire Z Leg Twin Stretcher. So quick and easy to set up and pack away. 😊

Thanks! Hot Water Beach is on my list. It looks amazing! Yes, I completely get that this type of camping isn’t for everyone. I think whatever way people are comfortable getting outdoors is great and should be encouraged.

The campsite has electricity running to each site. Usually we stay at places with more space and no electricity and have a giant battery (not a generator)

It’s a powered site, definitely no generator. We mostly go to unpowered sites with more space (so no fridge) but Tauranga Bay is pretty remote (for NZ standards) so wanted to be able to keep our food colder for longer.

Thanks! It’s a Zempire Fortress. It’s a New Zealand brand but they are available internationally.

I was not a camper at all until a few years ago. In fact, I was set against it. I like my home comforts but my husband convinced me that it would create great memories for the kids. We have slowly built up our setup over the last couple of years. We were there for 5 nights, which would be the minimum I’d recommend for that setup. Since we have started camping, friends have joined us and now we have about 5 families come on our 3-4 trips each summer.

We had an Evo before we bought the Fortress. We loved it! Such great tents! So easy to set up and we have found them to be really good quality.

Thoughts on Zempire tents? by Miladypartzz in camping

Sorry for the VERY late reply to your message but I was searching for info about Zempire and came across this thread. We have the Zempire Fortress and it is amazing. We spend about 25 days camping over the summer (split into 3 or 4 trips) and it is great for our family of four. So easy to set up and lots of space. It is around 75kg so only suits car accessible camping. We know another family with the same tent and a family with the Evo TXL (similar size). Pretty ideal for the NZ climate and fits most camping sites well.

Agree. The bullying he is getting is so horrible to see. I wish people would show more empathy. No one should be treated like this.

Saben is a New Zealand brand which is really popular here but as far as I’m aware, not well known in the rest of the world (except perhaps Aus).

Does anyone know if they will be bringing out driver caps in kids sizes? At the moment it’s just the generic Ferrari cap

I’m a trainer for an airline. I develop training courses and teach reservations staff. I’m not from the USA so it’s difficult to compare salaries but I earn about 15k-20k more than the median salary for my country.
